It's going to be "awhile" before a $200 card saturates the PCIe 2.0 bandwidth; never mind 3.0

I still want it. After my somewhat-failed GTX 460 SLI setup I want to have plenty of PCI-E bandwidth and lots of vram from now on. Oh, and something annoying: The GTX 560 Ti 448 just went on sale for $199. No stock left by the time I found it, but still, maybe I should have waited just one more day...

http://www.nordichardware.com/news/69-c ... ridge.htmlQuote: A European retail NordicHardware has been in contact with can confirm that all boxes are marked 95W, which was higher than expected. However we reserve the right that there may be a misprint on a larger batch och processorer, but as of now we can't confirm wether that's the case or not. Even if performance is better at the same frequency it is a surprise for those with high clocked Sandy Bridge processors intending to switch for Ivy Bridge. 95W ??? What do you think, misprint? 22nm ???

What do you mean? You are assuming that Intel delivered an epic fail. Personally i would go for (1) "typo" before believing that (2) IB is power-hungry at 22nm, if i have a choice And AMD will have PileDriver - even if it gets +20% performance across the board and they improve TDP by 50%, it will still not catch Sandy Bridge. And AMD is only looking at a max of 10-15% by their own projections.

Ivy needs a lot more voltage than people thought. It's not a typo. There must be massive leakage going on.

You're in quite the mood today apoppin. Did you eat something? It's only 7:40am where you live as well, on a SUNDAY.
Did you receive some exciting new hardware or something?

Did you receive some exciting new hardware or something? i got up late. 5:30 AM and i just set up my Core i3-2105 again .. it was completely dissembled in pieces everywhere. And now i have some pre-benching to do i detailed all of the exciting Kingston HW that i got on Friday (we don't get Saturday deliveries except the USPS) - a second HyperX 3K 240GB SSD *is exciting* as i will eventually move all of my benches to SSD. And of course, some mystery HW is scheduled for Monday afternoon delivery . . . then i will be busy the rest of the week like you cannot imagine
