i know this may not be the place for this but here goes...

hello folks,
i built my i5 rig in november last but just february my 4870 card bit the dust... what i'd like to know is... is it possible to run my chip @ 4.0 ghz and use the gfx component ? or should i just run them both at stock... i use a coolermaster hyper 212+ for cooling with 1 fan on it..

The CPU overclock does not affect the graphics component on your i5.
- feel free to use HD 3000 graphics while overclocking the CPU


Hyper n212+ should be fine for an OC to 4.0+GHz. Just monitor the temps.

WC Though u r going to be disappointed pretty fast with intel hd graphics

once it can run my games that i play online like LoL and some others i'm cool

Let us know how that goes.

Don't expect much from the integrated graphics. They will be ok for older games but even on low settings new games won't run on it.
