If you are looking to get your post count up for the Galaxy Contest to qualify to win the GTX 560 Ti grand prize, feel free to post here about the following: - -If you have owned a Galaxy product, tell us about it.
- - What do you like about Galaxy cards?
- -Name the most important things that you consider when you buy a graphics card
- - How did you decide on your current video card?
UPDATE - Someone this week in this thread will win an additional prize from Galaxy. We will be giving a Galaxy T-shirt away to one of the posters. We have 3 brand new Galaxy T-shirts to give away in our "Spring into Summer Contest" and a couple of Galaxy key chains in addition to the GTX 550/560 Ti. (In *addition* to the three $99 each full retail Cyberlink movie-making SW suite D/L !!!)

I just like bumping post count anyway, contest or no! But this looks like a sweet deal for whoever wins, no doubt at all. I do have to say I like the cooler on it, very massive fan arrangement. 1. Never owned any Galaxy products, so cannot say. 2. Most important factor is card is stable while running factory clocks. 3. I decided on current card when GTX580 stormed the market and locked itself into the single GPU performance crown.

1-- Never owned anything Galaxy as of yet. I would try them out if given a card 2-- Most important would be reliability, warranty and customer service. 3-- Have been an EVGA customer since 2004 and have never had 1 problem. They are usually a tiny bit pricier, but I will be faithful unless I have a horrible experience. Even then, depending on what it is....... Might stay with them anyway

- If you have owned a Galaxy product, tell us about it.Never bought a Galaxy product before. Their availability in Canada is lacking. IIRC only TigerDirect has a decent catalog of Galaxy products unfortunately. - What do you like about Galaxy cards?Their custom coolers look like they do a good job in both cooling and noise levels. -Name the most important things that you consider when you buy a graphics cardPrice > noise level > performance - How did you decide on your current video card?Price! An inexpensive ASUS 9600GSO that I got for $40 after MIR. Fantastic deal at the time I would say. apoppin wrote: We got some nice prizes for you this month. I currently have a Galaxy 24GGS8HX2PUX GeForce GT 240 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card. It is my first Galaxy card. I had never heard of Galaxy before but after some good reviews on Newegg I took a chance and have been happy since. I have had no problems whatsoever with it and would happily get another one. What I like about the card is its price, its performance and the fact that the one time I had a question at the time of installation they were very helpful and friendly. The things I look for most in a video card are performance for the price, reliability, noise and customer support. I decided on this card when a rebate lowered what was already a reasonable price and had the features I was looking for. It wasn't a brand I was familiar with but reviews seemed decent and I decided to take the plunge.

it dont seem like many have tried galaxy. Galaxy is really pretty decent. I wouldnt hesitate at all to buy a galaxy card, i have several past builds for ppl and they all still going strong. Even if you dont win, you still wouldnt be disappointed if you bought a galaxy gpu. as i said earlier, they seem pretty solid and i am glad they would participate in this contest.
I love Evga but sometimes the smaller vendors have killer deals. Just saying that galaxy isnt a company you should be afraid of or anything.

The most important thing I look at is the cooler. Even if I can find a deal with amazing price/performance, I won't touch it if the cooler is crap. Most importantly, it HAS to be quiet under load. (Of course, it also has to keep the card from getting too hot.) All of the components in my system are pretty quiet, so a single noisy video card would break that balance.
I don't mind if it has rear exhaust, because I use a case that has more-than-adequate airflow. (And, of course, it's quiet!)
Edit: And yes, I like referring people to ABT. My favorites are your CPU bottleneck investigations. You've helped convince some friends to not waste their money.

Look to this thread and to the main contest thread (especially beginning) over the weekend. We will be giving away a prize a day until the contest ends. May i give my own testimonial about Galaxy? i am impressed with their attitude, their service and their in-house designs We have been working with them for quite some time and the overall feedback we get from (and we DO get feedback from our readers) is very good
