I played some of this Max Payne mobile on the Ipad that I borrowed from my friend for the summer.. while it has pretty much the same graphics as the original Max Payne, it seems that it uses purely bilinear filtering, zero AF, and a bit lower-res textures.. while the controls are much worse. I cannot stand the controls on the Ipad touch screen - using the WASD keys on the keyboard is much more responsive.

I also played the original Doom port (recently ported to IOS) - the controls aren't as bad since the Doom control interface is more simple (i.e., no strafe), but I still prefer the original keyboard control.

The same goes for the Marvel vs Capcom and Street Fighter (IV, etc..) series - I just cannot get used to the controls on the Ipad touchscreen!! How could anybody really get good at the Ipad version of those fighter games?!?

The Android version of max payne is better version over the iOS which is something I have heard in a lot of place. i'm not sure if this is possible in iOS but through Bluetooth I can connect some wireless controllers like the Wii mote to the device. I recommend getting a icade or something similar that has joystiqs. There are a lot of great games out there on the iPad that just scream for a controller.

Thank you for sharing!

Wiimote to the smartphone... that's wicked, dude!

Ipad 1 is a bit slow with some games, like with the really cool Infinity Blade 1 and 2 games based on Unreal 3 engine. I cannot stand the slow-down periods that really affect gameplay, making me lose the level/stage outright whenever there's a hitch, like as if it literally drops/skips CPU cycles. I'm wondering if Tegra 3 would make it completely smooth for these games.

A lot of the games for the IOS/Android are still ummm... 1990's-quality, lacking length and depth to them. There is nothing like the original Deus Ex for the smartphone - nothing of that sort. There's not a game with that kind of depth to it, really - the Ipad that I am using now is jailbroken and I've downloaded nearly 50 of the most popular games for it. Most of them are kind of like the Angry Birds-type of game.

Simple touch controls abandon virtual analog pads for a far more organic feel.

True, sometimes i feel like i bought a game and i enjoy it for sometime but then its on to the next one. Tegra 3 is amazing. Gaming is smooth, lag free and the Nexus 7 tablet is just $199 its insanely cheap for a good quad core GPU gaming device.

There are some games with depth to to them you just have to search. the top games are top games because they are arcady in a sense, Angry birds was such a success developers now are cashing in on the quick play and casual games.

Games like Casey contraptions, infinity blade, the Zenonia titles, the Dead space game, Idyllic, lostwinds, Hector. Just to name a few are great mobile games that are perfect for the platform.

This is why Console and more notably PC gaming is going nowhere for now. While cheap thrills are available on the iPad, iPhone, and android devices for 99c the PS vita or an Xbox game will always have more to offer.

Tegra 3 devices and the "new" iPad are changing this I think. Soon we will see games that actually take advantage of the mobile GPU's and have some great experiences. This is why i like doing the top Apps/games to show people some great mobile things

I HAD an ipad, but I needed to return it :(

once I get a tab, and an iPad in the future ill try to bring some of those titles here in review form.

Looks promising :)

I am going to be reviewing a good "organic" control title in the near future in the vain of Limbo that uses no onscreen controls.
