x64 benchmark is older than IB. i d/led the latest this AM
- i commented on it in the evaluation

Upgrading from 4>8GB of RAM is not necessary for ANY games. It is beneficial for other things
- and that is the basis of an upcoming evaluation
:)

Here is a screenshot from Skyrim running without any ugridstoload or uExterior Cell Buffer or iPreloadSizeLimit tricks in the ini files (the LOD has been turned up, and the grass draw distance extended, and the fog pushed WAY, WAY into the distance though).

Image

the ini files used are shown below:

The integrated gpu in sandy bridge comes in quite handy for monitoring the system whilst gaming.

I've found that the game isn't stable with increased ugridstoload or uExterior Cell Buffer or iPreloadSizeLimit values -- 8gb isn't enough for such scenarios. Good thing I'll soon have 32gb in my system!

The forcing back of the fog is done as a small mod that manipulates the weather settings to push the fog back.

Attached my weather mod in case anyone wants it (really improves the look of the game IMO).

barely any. runs extremely well, despite 9 followers chasing me around. I'm near dragons bridge in that scenario above, at the stormcloak camp, with my followers, a big bunch of soldiers and plenty of wildlife (thanks to skyrim monster mod and a spawn rate increase mod, so the cpu is getting quite a workout).

Your CPU is running nice and cool for 4.4GHz

And as i said before, the amount of system RAM doesn't affect the framerates. Windows can adjust for the amount of System RAM there is and will show usage of 128GB if you have it; but still no difference to the fps although loading times are much shorter and there is a difference in the perception of "smoothness" - especially in panning scenes that may involve some loading.

At any rate, i'll be testing this .. as soon as i can clear some of my backlog. New Mystery Card evaluation due this week. i got it on Thursday and i will start benching for it this morning. i took two days to "recover"

Will do in a sec. Some of that memory usage is windows disk caching, of course, but skyrim, steam, coretemp and task manager are the only things actively running.

Yes, the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ does its job very well indeed. I could probably clock this CPU up to 4.8 ghz with little trouble if I had a mind to (I don't).

This is a quick snapshot of memory. Skyrim won't let you alt-tab in and out of it (locks up if you do), so this is the game restarted and reloaded maybe 30 seconds in from the load. 3.6gb to 4.7 gb memory load is typical for wandering Skyrim (with my settings), until you get to a settlement, then the memory load skyrockets.
