http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... dTd9JrsRNw The GTX 460-769M was still $90 after MiR all day yesterday Slick Deals posted it and they sold out again... this is a recurring ad No update on the mystery cards .. evidently a massive storm in the USA has affected all flights and commercial shipping

Midwest is the shipping heart of the country. Had two 6-hour power outages this week due to the storm.

BoFox wrote: Yo, if you read my last post above, the 460's are retailing for more than 450's, not less. There were a couple of amazing discounts/rebates that made the 768MB version $~90, but it must've been too good to last, and there's nothing like it now.
On Newegg: 460 1GB as low as: $180 (145 AR) HD 6850 as low as: $180 (160 AR)
I guess the current "MSRP" for the 460 1GB is $199.99, since anything cheaper has its price hidden and has to be added to the cart to be viewed.
The 460 1GB is still a better buy overall, due to more features (other than Eyefinity), plus massively better overclockability that makes it ~10% faster than the oc'ed 6850. The 6850, let alone 5770, is pretty much low-end for Eyefinity (unless one uses 3 1280x1024 monitors which is still as demanding as 2560x1600).
Good point there about HTPC and the 5770 being the best choice for a majority of them.. Well Eyefinity (or rather, three screens per card) has benefits out side of gaming. That the point I was making about using it on the 5770. A regular 460 is $145 AR? Yeah, that would be a better deal than a 6850 at $160. Although if we're talking about the SE version, then $145 AR is pretty much where it should fall, IMO. Still a good value. The market has a lot of parity; the only thing that breaks the parity (often) is the 768MB, which is why I find it an enigma. Also I think one reason we see 6850s, on average, a tad more than 460s is because AMD might be putting the TDP and power requirements as some kind of priority. The 6850 and 460 are not really comparable on the power front. The 6850 has 1 PEG connector and the 460 has two. Perhaps this is a similar strategy to releasing "energy efficient" processors, which you pay more upfront for the lower TDP relative to performance.

Awesome!!! First, you got SSD, then now you got this! Man, your computer experience is becoming more and more full-rounded! Hmm, I'm thinking that 4.1 is more balanced than 5.1 especially with movies where the center speaker is sometimes the only speaker that speaks the volume of what the characters in movies are speaking, for instance. However, most sources only support either 5.1 or 2.0 or 7.1 (rarely 6.1). I had 4.0 a while ago and it was wonderfully balanced with the surround itself. Now, 5.1 (center and subwoofer), and the only real benefit is the low-frequency sub. Cool!!!
