The ones I was considering are all linked in my first post above.

All AM3+ boards? What are you getting? Phenom II? 1090T

i wouldn't recommend any of them for BullDozer - wait until it is released.

(mad1) Gggrr did you read the first post Apoppin? I had initially planned to go back to AMD which I mentioned in the first post, I was told that all those boards would be able to use BD when it is released, so if I did choose to upgrade in the future that option would be there.

That is the expected release date for the Bull?

yes i did; and it got pretty confusing when you appeared to consider Sandy Bridge :P

However, i would NOT recommend ANY AM3+ MB *before* BD is released UNLESS you are getting a Phenom II now

Yes, you can use them - but performance may not be optimal
--if you are asking my advice i will give you the same advice i gave my relative (and friend) ... if you are planning to get BD, don't buy the MB now.

WAIT !!

OK? That is my final bit of advice for BD and BD-compatible MBs .. my relative decided to get a Phenom II 1090T and take his chances later on with BD
:hello:

Well at the bottom of the post that you told me you read :D , I had something about taking suggestions even if that suggestion was to stick with Intel. Also do you have a rough idea when BD will be released?

No one is certain. Sometime in late Summer is best guess

Even if BD is released, in my opinon it will not be much faster or even as fast as a overclocked Sandybridge.
Why wait?

Why wait? It would be at least 2x faster than your q6600.

The only reason to wait, IMO, would be for a price drop. But waiting for a price drop is a never ending game. So I agree, if you want to upgrade today there is no reason not to go with a sandy bridge setup.

You keep forgetting that our OP wants *AMD* - not Intel :P

IF he wants AMD, then the logical thing to do is to wait for BD to be released with a proper MB
--if he wants to change now, he should get an AM3+ MB and a 1090T

If he will consider Sandy Bridge, he needs to tell us
- i think he really wants AMD :tease:
