i have to agree and i am puzzled by the aggravation statement.

i still have a working Belkin Nostromo n52 speedpad .. and i am pretty sure that it was created with Win98 in mind; you can still use it with Win7
-- now that is some support!

If you don't get the aggravation statement, then clearly it's just me.

I give Belkin a try now and then. Primarily their networking products. Whether it be a hub, switch, PCI NIC, PCI wireless or USB dongle wireless. I have had reliability issues with each and every one. Intermittent functionality. Works one day and not the next for NO apparent reason. Not making this stuff up. Frankly, I'm stunned nobody else has issues with them.

I pretty much agree. Belkin make commodity products, at best. Walk into somewhere like Harvey Norman (big shopping franchise in Australia) and Belkin is everywhere. Crap for dummies.

i never tried their networking products. And i'd like to walk into Harvey Norman and buy a Belkin product
- it'd mean that i would be in Australia .. never been. And it also means that Belkin is *successful*
:)

Anyway, i added Coolermaster and Thermaltake to my appointment schedule - the "cooler people"
- ViewSonic too, but not confirmed yet

That's ten appointments of an hour each with companies ABT has media relations with over 2-1/2 days - spread out over 6 hotels and the main convention center (which means you have to allow an hour minimum between meetings .. And that is *besides* visiting the thousands of CES exhibits on the main floor.
-- it's a good thing there is are regular shuttles from CES to every hotel and back although you still usually have to walk a mile to get to the meeting place. Some companies even send limos.
:hello:

And the meeting will be with Nvidia about the new GeForce flagship video card releasing in a few weeks for $499

Just kidding
:tease:

TEGRA
:hello:

Cambridge Audio just gave me an invite? i have room for maybe one more .... anyone interested in Cambridge? i have one of their ancient 4.1 speaker systems that is still working fine (unlike my Klipsch system).

Anyone know someone at Sapphire? A name or PR contact? i'd like to introduce myself in behalf of ABT to them.

i'd be interested in seeing some info on the new tablets that the various manufacturers are working on, particularly if they have quad core processors and higher resolution screens. since getting my playbook, i barely touch my pc any more. i think the coming years will be very exciting in terms of how powerful tablets and smartphones will become. the traditional pc is dying imo.

i will be meeting with Nvidia and the focus will be on Tegra.
- is there any specific manufacturer you want me to look at? Nvidia will no doubt have suggestions for me which partner to contact for review samples. i am also interested in mobile computing.

well it will be interesting to see if apple does release the ipad 3 at ces, not that i would ever spend $500 on a tablet unless it could do everything my pc could.

asus, acer, and samsung would probably be the other three companies i would check out.

what i'm most interested in are the "ice cream sandwich" tablets that will surely be coming out soon. it's the latest release of android and it's supposedly quite good.

when does ces start? good luck with your meetings there. i'm sure it will be interesting.

Thanks. Next Tuesday. i might get their Monday evening for Nvidia's press event and dinner with Thermaltake or i will just show up really early Tuesday and start with Intel at 7 am. And i will be leaving back for California on Wednesday night. It's a 5-6 hour drive one way. And the event even for 2 days is a pretty grueling schedule; i'm meeting with 10 vendors.
