That's about as good of a answer as you can expect from a company. I especially like the part about Kingston declaring who they allow to post in forums, in order to keep there message consistent. Without rules like that employees could start running a muck in forums which we all have and continue to see.

One thing I would like to know is do those employees that post in public forums have to declare who they work for?

Edit: my question was answered in there reply. Must of missed it.

Yes, i like Kingston and the way they run their company. They do tend to be conservative and as you can see they have put a lot of thought into their policies and it appears that they are keeping their options open so they can adapt their policies. For them it is a blanket "no" on their employees participating in SM; only a designated few are allowed to be the voice of Kingston and when they do, they declare themselves.

Intel's rep told me he was swamped but gave us the kernel of their Policy. They DO allow their employees to post in social media and to blog but they insist on transparency. That is why you see Intel employees posting on the forum, "not speaking for Intel" in their sigs.

i still haven't heard from Nvidia and i don't expect that the AMD PR guy will receive my emailed questions until next week. But right here in these two replies from Kingston and Intel alone is the basis for an interesting article on social media and marketing.
--- i will be updating the second post next week with each company's reply.
:hello:

brilliant idea pop. I think its a great bit of information and its absolute relevant. This is a great addition to the article. Its fruit for thought. Perhaps now more ppl might understand why your even making this article. Kingstons response is filled with deep thought and it should bring some important points to the article. Other company views are every bit relevant. Some ppl really dont understand why its bad for AMD to do what they are doing. you can see the undertones with kingston, they have put thought into such things and understand reality. The short term gains are too small to be gambling your company's imagine. Its a big pile of poo they are smearing and its eventually gonna be all over themselves!

That's what we already posted this morning. That the HD 7770 was supposed to be coming next and it will be rather cut down shader-wise and have clockspeeds of about 1GHz.

What is stealthy about that? The reviewers are getting their cards. It says everything is fake but what is it referring to?

It is just kinda silly. Both AMD and Nvidia do this kind of thing. Like putting the HD 6990 in a silver case only the next week for Nvidia to put the GTX 590 in an ammo case. Or the big belt buckle with the FX-8150.

AMD (NYSE: AMD) was today named by Corporate Knights to its inaugural list of the S&P 500 Clean Capitalism Ranking, placing among the top twenty companies to be recognized. Corporate Knights, which defines “clean capitalism” as “responsible, resource-productive and socially just”, employs a transparent, quantitative methodology to compile its ranking, evaluating factors such as energy and carbon productivity, leadership diversity and employee turnover.

“By combining a strong set of quantitative metrics with transparent, best-in-class research, Corporate Knights is providing a valuable tool to help key stakeholders decide which companies are truly committed to corporate responsibility,” said Allyson Peerman, corporate vice president, AMD Public Affairs. “AMD’s worldwide stakeholders should celebrate not only this prestigious recognition, but also their commitment to a company that walks the talk.”

AMD was also recognized recently by Trust Across America, a think tank dedicated to promoting and recognizing trustworthy business behavior, as one of the Top Ten Most Trustworthy Public Companies for 2011.

Seems like you have gotten lots of it done.

In order to gain THAT much more publicity regarding this issue, it really ought to be posted as an article on the main page. A LOT MORE publicity, trust me!
