Who here owns or has used/interacted with an iPad 2 and an Asus Transformer (not Prime) for prolong period? Which one do you prefer and why is that the case? (Taking money out of the scenario all together).

My main issue is some people use the iPad 2 one or two times a right it off and visa versa the Asus Transformers, I don't see how individuals can make a objective conclusion about a product when they don't interact with it or even use it for a prolong period.

Some people mindset either locked into Apple or anti-Apple (such individuals feel free not to comment here thanks in advance :) ) and thus have some vague, bias and annoying conclusions about a product.

iOS destroys Android IMO. I have thoroughly used Android on my smartphone and I've used iOS across several devices. iOS is much smoother, faster, and better optimized.

The only advantage Android has is customizability which you need to do because it's ugly by default IMO.

First of all the ONLY tablets running Android id recommend are the xoom, or the Asus transformer.

Ive owned an Asus transformer for about 6 months and now own an iPad 2. So I have experience using them on a daily basis.

Heres my points:
1)the transformer wins on expandable memory and acts like an SD card so can play any file. iOS requires very specific file formats and converting them is..annoying.
of course their are ways to stream content to your devices but takes some looking into :)

2)Keyboard dock is a must, not only does it sustain its own charge and attaches or detaches instantly but it also charges your device. The transformer has FANTASTIC battery life. Especially with the dock, once dying snap on the dock and charges it quickly. The problem with many android devices is battery life, not here.

3) design and weight: On par with the iPad 2. And at a cheaper price now with the dock. the back of the device feels strong and build quality is what you expect from Asus.

4) The camera is about the same as iPad 2, they both suck

5)Applications, widgets and ice cream sandwich: I love the ability to use widgets on a tablet, like music controls or news or anything you can think of. I use my tablet for entertainment and browsing, and multitasking is TRUE and easy on the transformer. The iPad 2 requires gestures and can be somewhat clunky and hard to go 2 or more applications back.

The ecosystem on the iPad 2 is what kills me for the Transformer. There is just so much more apps on the iPad 2, android is "Attempting" to catch up, but it doesn't have nearly the developer adoption the iPad 2 has. the iPad may be "bland, the same as the phone, blah blah" but it the whole point of a tablet or device is to enjoy it!

The android market has much to offer but it leaves you wanting more in the games department and overall app department. although many major apps are there, Personally gaming and applications are much better on iPad 2

5) The transformer is so much easier to use. File transfers, expandable memory, looks, keyboard functionality. I found myself getting annoyed with my laptop because it didn't have a touchscreen after typing, sounds dumb to us on laptops and desktops but trust me once you play with the Transformer its hard to go back.

so the choice is yours. iPad is considerably more expensive for so much less memory. trust me you fill up 16 gb really quick, and cloud services are not easy to use on the move. you'd have to fork up so much money just to get 32gb when you can get 64 on the transformer for considerably less.

I love the iPad,and I love the Transformer with the dock. Its so fun to use. not as simple to use a cover to prop up the iPad as a standalone keyboard dock is.

What else would you like to know that I didn't touch on?

The Asus tablets are just as smooth, fast and optimized as the iPad 2. The Prime beats the 2, the original is just as good.
You have to use it to believe it.

Ice cream sandwich is beautiful. The whole UI overhaul is fantastic and so much easier to use than iOS. Especially for multitasking. I get sick of pressing the home button twice for everything or swiping with 4 fingers. just 2 quick clicks and I'm on to the next one. I've used many android phones too. some are HORRRRIBBBLEEE. You pay for what you get, it just depends :)

and im in no way biased towards either one. i have both iOS devices and android

If you want to see incredible multitasking on a tablet you should check out the Playbook.

I have, its the best tablet at that price. It was horrendous when it first arrived. Now with the Android player its the best tablet for a cheap price, but its not the same size or as great as the Transformer IMO

My wife doesn't like it. She finds it unresponsive when you click on it. I find it's great and I enjoy it.

When you guys mention customizability you are referring to how you arrange icons and over just look and feel correct?

I used it and was surprised that the 7" wasn't as small as I expected it to be if I was going to purchase a Tablet and have a Laptop I would go 7" but since I sold my Laptop with the intentions of trying the whoe "Tablet" craze I decided to go 10".
