First of all the ONLY tablets running Android id recommend are the xoom, or the Asus transformer.

Ive owned an Asus transformer for about 6 months and now own an iPad 2. So I have experience using them on a daily basis.

Heres my points:
1)the transformer wins on expandable memory and acts like an SD card so can play any file. iOS requires very specific file formats and converting them is..annoying.
of course their are ways to stream content to your devices but takes some looking into :)..............................................

5)Applications, widgets and ice cream sandwich: I love the ability to use widgets on a tablet, like music controls or news or anything you can think of. I use my tablet for entertainment and browsing, and multitasking is TRUE and easy on the transformer. The iPad 2 requires gestures and can be somewhat clunky and hard to go 2 or more applications back.

The ecosystem on the iPad 2 is what kills me for the Transformer. There is just so much more apps on the iPad 2, android is "Attempting" to catch up, but it doesn't have nearly the developer adoption the iPad 2 has. the iPad may be "bland, the same as the phone, blah blah" but it the whole point of a tablet or device is to enjoy it!

The android market has much to offer but it leaves you wanting more in the games department and overall app department. although many major apps are there, Personally gaming and applications are much better on iPad 2

5) The transformer is so much easier to use. File transfers, expandable memory, looks, keyboard functionality. I found myself getting annoyed with my laptop because it didn't have a touchscreen after typing, sounds dumb to us on laptops and desktops but trust me once you play with the Transformer its hard to go back.

so the choice is yours. iPad is considerably more expensive for so much less memory. trust me you fill up 16 gb really quick, and cloud services are not easy to use on the move. you'd have to fork up so much money just to get 32gb when you can get 64 on the transformer for considerably less.

I love the iPad,and I love the Transformer with the dock. Its so fun to use. not as simple to use a cover to prop up the iPad as a standalone keyboard dock is.

What else would you like to know that I didn't touch on?

Just those two? What about ones like the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or perhaps the Toshiba Thrive? I'm not interested in the gaming department but I am attracted in the overall application ecosystem of the iPad two, so things like

Widgets etc... still fall under visual customization and or accessibility correct? Also what did you use up to quickly full up 16gb? I'm more of a music books/comics person so I doubt I will fill up that 16gb too fast.

16GB is not much storage. Many power users complain about it and it is a reason that Kingston created wireless storage.

Why not just buy an iPad if it appeals to you. It is not like you sell your soul to Apple and are locked into iOS for eternity. . . or do you?

i believe that even Target sells the iPad and they have a 90 day money back guarantee that will really allow you to try it out.

Hold on since when selling your soul is a bad thing :), I have no issues with going with Apple I was just trying make the best informed decision that I can and I'm ordering it, from America to Jamaica so I will most likely get only 30 days to decide whether I want to keep it or not.

1) when you have no soul to sell
2) when it is already sold but you are unaware of the transaction

Whatever you decide to buy will be completely out of date in six months

Lol I still use a G1 cellphone so it being out of date is not an issue to me if the product still serves the purpose I got it for :)

Someone has a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and a iPad 3 they were recommending that I get an Android Tablet since I'm a techie and that Android has more Networking based APPs than the iPad as that is what he uses his Android for and he uses his iPad mainly for media graphics, syncing with itunes etc.... and another person made a interesting recommendation after I metioned to him that I would get the Android Tablet and then get like a 3g iPhone he recommended why not do it the other way around get the iPad Tablet and then get a decent Android like a Captivate or something.
