iOS destroys Android IMO. I have thoroughly used Android on my smartphone and I've used iOS across several devices. iOS is much smoother, faster, and better optimized.
The only advantage Android has is customizability which you need to do because it's ugly by default IMO.

When you guys mention customizability you are referring to how you arrange icons and over just look and feel correct?

If you want to see incredible multitasking on a tablet you should check out the Playbook.

I used it and was surprised that the 7" wasn't as small as I expected it to be if I was going to purchase a Tablet and have a Laptop I would go 7" but since I sold my Laptop with the intentions of trying the whoe "Tablet" craze I decided to go 10".

Yes my REAL name is MARIO :) lol

My father-in-law has the kindle fire and its suprisingly fun to use. If you have a laptop i agree, go with the smaller size. also, the iPad may just be to big to some. For reading, viewing, without a stand even if it is just 1 pound or so it can become tiresome. 7 is a perfect size

Just those two? What about ones like the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or perhaps the Toshiba Thrive? I'm not interested in the gaming department but I am attracted in the overall application ecosystem of the iPad two, so things like

Widgets etc... still fall under visual customization and or accessibility correct? Also what did you use up to quickly full up 16gb? I'm more of a music books/comics person so I doubt I will fill up that 16gb too fast.

When we are talking about iPads yes, the Thrive and galaxy tab have outdated processors. OMAP is terrible.
The thrive is a good tablet but these two are overpriced when you can just go for the ipad 3 for a little more. too me at least, it isnt worth it.
Samsung is notorious for dropping support to their devices quickly and ignoring critical bugs.

its not just hardware its the manufacturer as well.

I filled it up with movies! a little music when being used in the kitchen or table and i have apps upon apps, and especially now in an iPad 3 the apps are HD they will take up 16 gb rather quickly. Add in application cache, whatever you download, again games you have for the go. what if you want to travel? guess what delete a lot to fill it up with a little. The Transformer wins instantly in the storage/value department. I wish i had a prime to review i've only owned the original and played with the prime a little.

how much music do you have? Over the years i have over 18.5 gb in my itunes alone worth of podcasts, comics, apps, music, audiobooks.
Think about this, its not truly 16 gb, some of that goes to the system. its fills up QUICK. and every memory upgrade will cost you 100 bucks. like Mark mentioned the WiDrive saves me alot. I throw all my movies in thier without it I wouldve returned the iPad. this is just me :)

Couldn't justify the price with my salary perhaps if I was only interested in computers but I also have some money paying down on my DSLR and my Mountain Cycle so I really have to pace my spendings.
