Fraid not....I always liked this thing, because it had a handle. It was also suggested that I remove the motherboard regardless of if I had an access port; for safety reasons.

And I don't plan on overclocking much, if at all at this point.

If you can access the back of your motherboard, you will *never* need to remove it just to change out a cooler or CPU

If you don't plan on overclocking, the stock cooler is fine :P

Not really. This thing is driving me crazy. It must be replaced. I can hear it over a larger fan I have blowing in the room.

That is a real reason to replace it. The Cooler Master cooler is pretty quiet unless you really crank the rpms

And i cut an access hole in my case in the days before they made access holes. i always thought it was ridiculous to have to remove a MB just to change a cooler or CPU

It is indeed very ridiculous. I could just buy a new case, but that'd be even dumber; particularly just to replace a cooler.

Might just pick up those other two I mentioned, since they don't require removing the motherboard. I don't necessarily need extreme coolness (though it would be nice). Just want this damn thing to shut-up.

Unless anyone has any suggestions/recommendations.

If you are good with cutting tools .....
:)

Other than that, picking up a cooler that doesn't require removing the MB is a plus.

Got the Hyper 212+ installed, but damn case cover won't fit with it in! LMAO! Stupid me for not measuring first. Oh well, guess I'll be playing with the case open. Can't be any worse than it was before.

Damn stock cooler was an offensive pile of dog dooky.

Well, if you are good with cutting tools ... you can put the side panel on
:tease:
i did this once with an Aspire - but the side panel just fit over the CPU cooler - i had to put the side case fan on the outside of the case

What kind of case do you have?
