I just wanted to post this as a warning to those of you that are considering Nzxt products for your systems.

I purchased my Nzxt Havik 140 around the new year for ~$60 with a $20 mail-in rebate. In about March I e-mailed Nzxt to tell them that I had not received my rebate. In fact I had not received anything at all from them, no confirmation e-mail, nothing.

So then a couple more months went by and then I sent them a nasty e-mail threatening legal action if they don't mail me my rebate immediately. They then responded to my message and told me that they would be mailing it out to me right away.

Now here we are today, probably 6 weeks after that last e-mail and I still have received absolutely nothing.

I hope my $20 was worth the knock that Nzxt is taking to their reputation over this.

It's August, they have had plenty of time to get the Rebate out.

I hate Rebates

Who cares the reason?

Keep after them. It's not their $20 :P

They OWE it to SB. They win if he gets discouraged and gives up.

I did email them again. I'm now looking into suing them.

I had a issue with corsair recently over a $20.00 rebate, although with my rebate they emailed me saying they can't process it because the upc wasn't sent (which it was). After numerous back and forth emails in which I assured them it was sent and corsair repeatedly telling me it wasn't, I called them and threatened to file a BBB claim and if i had too a lawsuit.

I realized very quickly this wasn't going to get resolved over email. The call I made was maybe 10 min long and the cs rep was very helpful and processed my rebate while I waited with very little aggravation.

So Sickbeast if NZXT has a customer service number call them. It could save you a lot of aggravation.

Just as an update, I *finally* got my rebate check from Nzxt last week. I wonder if the BBB complaint had anything to do with it.

Needless to say, I won't be buying anything from Nzxt in the future if it involves a MIR.

Don't buy anything anywhere that is with a rebate. Well, that is my own philosophy anyway. I can't be bothered for it. Just wait for a straight out sale price and then buy. IMHO.

i feel the same. Dont give to rat ballz about rebates. They are 50/50 at best and its not worth the hassle to me when there is a good chance it will only upset me in the end.

I like to buystuff and feel good about it. Rebate deals are just a way to spoil it. There are often great deals without the rebate rip offs. i would take a mere 20$ off than a 50$ rebate. Thats just me.

I also know that companies bank on unsuccessful rebates. I cannot tell you the details but i was told that his much. Its figured in that a large percent of rebates would be unsuccessful and this is why you see a lot of "great deals". The figure i heard it was less the 60%, but it may vary from company to company. A high percentage rebates are not expected to be payed back. It is specific and factored into the bottom end for each deal. So you see there is pressure against them being honored, especially if a large majority of purchasers does everything correct. This is also why they add different things in the small print, New stuff like alotnd with the already long list. New ones "you must register your product within 90days."

They have all sorts of tricks. you must send the receipt with x days. You send a copy only find out after the expiration they only accept the original. Just another trick. unspecified Bar-codes just whatever they come up with to insure that they could squirm out of it.

Rebates show you at the end of the day, everyone of these companies you think your love are just blood sucking corporations. If you dont want to feel ripped off, dont bet on a rebate deal. There are plenty of great deals without worrying about a rebate that could later piss you off.
