Don't buy anything anywhere that is with a rebate. Well, that is my own philosophy anyway. I can't be bothered for it. Just wait for a straight out sale price and then buy. IMHO.
i feel the same. Dont give to rat ballz about rebates. They are 50/50 at best and its not worth the hassle to me when there is a good chance it will only upset me in the end.
I like to buystuff and feel good about it. Rebate deals are just a way to spoil it. There are often great deals without the rebate rip offs. i would take a mere 20$ off than a 50$ rebate. Thats just me.
I also know that companies bank on unsuccessful rebates. I cannot tell you the details but i was told that his much. Its figured in that a large percent of rebates would be unsuccessful and this is why you see a lot of "great deals". The figure i heard it was less the 60%, but it may vary from company to company. A high percentage rebates are not expected to be payed back. It is specific and factored into the bottom end for each deal. So you see there is pressure against them being honored, especially if a large majority of purchasers does everything correct. This is also why they add different things in the small print, New stuff like alotnd with the already long list. New ones "you must register your product within 90days."
They have all sorts of tricks. you must send the receipt with x days. You send a copy only find out after the expiration they only accept the original. Just another trick. unspecified Bar-codes just whatever they come up with to insure that they could squirm out of it.
Rebates show you at the end of the day, everyone of these companies you think your love are just blood sucking corporations. If you dont want to feel ripped off, dont bet on a rebate deal. There are plenty of great deals without worrying about a rebate that could later piss you off.
