The original HD 6950 2GB (I think it's the unlockable version, and at least 80-90% of those cards can successfully run with all cores unlocked) reduced to $289 plus $30 rebate, for the same $259 price as the new 1GB version that probably cannot be unlocked:

AMD made a very hard decision when they dropped the 1gb 6950 this early and that cheap. I think its a necessary move but a double edged sword because they are gonna have to sell the 2gb cards a lot cheaper now. I am sure AMD want to keep them at 300$ longer than this.

We will see this kinda deal often from now on. My major gripe was with cayman's pricing. Its not that they were ridiculous or even high, its just they were priced in position that was average at best. Now this is a great deal. a steal. how could you not recommended this?
