SSDs are really dropping in price lately. My Vertex 3 worked out to $0.58 per gigabyte.

They seem to be getting more popular. Do you think the HDD shortage had anything to do with it?
i need to run some new benching with SSDs. Now that i have native PCIe 3.0 and SSD caching, it will be interesting to see the improvements over last year (Kingston HyperX SSD vs VNow Series)

I'm sure that the HDD shortage helped out the SSD manufacturers. I'm surprised more laptops don't come with an SSD by default.

Hmm, nice, ALMOST bought it (now $125), but I'm eyeing the Vertex 4 since it's leaps and bounds faster than anything out there now.
Do you think that by the end of this year, a 256GB version of Vertex 4 will be under $150 (and 128GB under $80)?

HDDs are coming back into good stock. i don't think we shall see regular pricing at $1 per GB yet - never mind 50 cents and under. Only on sales.
