I switched to FF because IE8 was so slow. Have any of you tried IE9?
What do think of it?

It is notably faster than IE8, but Firefox still slightly faster, but it might be a visual trick as IE9 waits to display the whole page once it has downloaded it totally while Firefox renders the page as it downloads it.

I just checked my Explorer and apparently at some point it switched to IE9 Beta.

Strange as when you click on About Explorer it says IE8 but when click on Tools it says IE9 Beta.

Anyway, the IE9 release is downloading as I type.

Must be a USA only release for the moment.

Can't find it on windows update or searching google for it.

I've switched to Chrome, personally. I can't see IE9 being any better.

Works great for me so far, and it is faster.

I'm testing the IE9 RC and its okay. Faster than IE8, almost equal to FF 3.6 but still loses to the "almighty" Chrome.

I just installed the Firefox 4 RC and it's the best browser I have ever used. They really did a nice job on the interface, and it feels just as fast as Chrome to me.

What's the addon/plugin compatability like? I'm wary of early installs of firefox because sometimes they all but wreck addon compatability for a while.

All of the plugins that I used with FF3 work fine with it. That includes adblock, firegestures, speed dial, and nosquint.

The final release is on the 22nd.
