Whenever I'm not gaming or watching a movie or so, I'm usually running a Folding@Home GPU client on my 8800GTS 320MB card for TeAm AnandTech (for now...maybe until ABT has enough members to make a nice folding team
I went out yesterday, leaving it to run as usual but when I came back, I noticed that the entire system was frozen. No response to anything. I had to hit the reset button to make the system reboot.
When I did that, the first thing I realized was some green vertical lines on the Rampage Formula screen and then some red ones in the post screen. When the Windows Vista load screen came up, there were some gray lines. After the load screen flicked off, the gray lines remained but then there was nothing else happening. The HDD activity LED went off and nothing else happened.
I rebooted, reset, cold booted, I tried several things and nothing worked. I then swapped out the GTS for a "spare" 8400GS I had lying around and everything booted fine, no lines, no problems. Is my GTS dead???
Is there a solution to get it working (properly) again??
