PORTLAND, Ore.— SC09—Nov. 16, 2009—NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) today unveiled the Tesla 20-series of parallel processors for the high performance computing (HPC) market, based on its new generation CUDA™ processor architecture, codenamed “Fermi”.

Here is what gamers are waiting for:

Now those are margins to die for

Yep, there's a big surprise for folks (not).

Anyhow, there is a nice new driver set out - 191.66, they are official Quadro drivers and very impressive. You can get a modded .inf file for them that will allow them to install on non quadro cards.

You are right, it is no surprise. It is "official"

AFaiK, 195.39 drivers are the next WHQLs that Nvidia submitted to MS just over 2 weeks ago

191.07 are still showing up on Nvidia's site atm. :P

i better hurry, if i get my article out today, the Nvidia drivers will still be current on publication date.

Part one is Cat 9-9/GF 191.07, however; part two uses Cat 9-10; i expect 9-11 released before i am done with Part Two testing
-- i should be building my Phenom II PC tonight

I've not been overly impressed by most of the 19x.xx driver releases, including 195.39. The 191.66's have been excellent so far though, and I'd expect nothing less from a Quadro driver (most of my favorite drivers have been Quadro drivers).

The B3D'ers seem to think that the GeForce "brand" of Fermi will arrive before the Tesla & Quadro brands.

I dunno, even if this works out being true, I wouldn't be in line to buy the first couple of batches, I'd rather wait on properly fixed silicon than patched hotlots, thanks.

Anyhow this image is taken from an interesting post by ChrisRay.

Note they don't specify the mode the benchmark was running in, from the stairs it might not be DX11 mode. of course drivers are probably extremely immature at the moment, either that or the card simply isn't a Fermi.

i haven't been following B3D's speculation, but my own intuition tells me that GeForce is Nvidia's bread and butter; it should be ahead of Quadro and Tesla
- logically, i expect it to be announced at the end of this year.

If AMD can paperlaunch 5870, 5850 and 5970 just to say we have "DX11" and NO supply, Nvidia needs to get their own PR machine going.
. . . it feels like it is SO quiet there, *something* must be going on

I'd rather nvidia left the PR machine switched off and let their products do the talking when they arrive. Let ATi make asses of themselves with PR & viral, nvidia doesn't need to and should not follow them.
