AMD's new HD 7000 OEM series graphics cards ... are designed specifically for OEM vendors only and are tailored toward the low-end and mid-range market. The OEM series is based on the current VLIW5 design and not the new GCN architecture seen with the Radeon HD 7970.

Looking at the Radeon HD 7670 and HD 7570, they're the same specifications as the Radeon HD 6670 and HD 6570. The Radeon HD 7470 is the same as the 750 MHz version of the Radeon HD 6450, while the HD 7450 matches the 625 MHz version of the HD 6450.

. . . the Radeon HD 7350 is not based on the Caicos but the two year old Cedar based HD 5450. In review of the specifications, it was found the HD 7350 doesn't support DisplayPort 1.2, which was a feature introduced with Northern Islands.

It will be fascinating to hear what those who condemned and crapped on g92 and the retail cards based on it have to say, won't it? .... >:)

Though I believe ATi still proudly holds the record for rebranding while simultaneously castrating with R200's bastard offspring....

HQ already sent them a memo to say "It's OK because NVIDIA did it". Seriously go read any thread on the internet about this.

But it wasn't OK when nvidia was doing it! And I say that because of the pissing, moaning and whining the fanATIcs were doing about it at the time.

Then again, we all know that logic and consistency aren't exactly fanATIc strong traits.....

You have to realize that it is *orchestrated* - lead by a conductor. A shill - or in the case of ATF, many shills who work together to praise AMD, minimize any damages, ridicule those who disagree - and even lie about Tech site owners and their reviews.

This can prove very damaging for AMD just as it did for Nvidia years ago. My hope is that AMD's CEO will get involved and make serious changes to cut off what some in AMD PR have turned a blind eye to (just as their competitor also did - years ago). Someone needs to show him that their OWN viral fans ruined the Bulldozer launch with stupidly unrealistic expectations. And now that same viral is back in CPU posting BS 'user reviews'. However, over there there is a Big Backlash and it will take some time for posters to forget.

i do not think Bulldozer is a failure. It is priced a bit high but it competes performance-wise and it is an upgrade path and it has a upgrade path. i think AMD will get it right with Win8 and PileDriver and i applaud competition for Intel just as i do AMD competing on an equal footing with Nvidia.

As to HD 7970, i hold much the same view as Ryan Smith does and i would have (and did say) the same thing about it. i went on further than he did with my own speculation that HD79x0 is "more transitional" than usual - like x1800>x1900 (or GF100>GF110). That AMD may have a good strategy even though it is expensive to do so.

So, he was guessing, guessed wrong, and doesn't even update the original article to reflect he guessed wrong?
This came from the other forum. There is NOTHING factually wrong with my preview. i wrote (twice) in my preview that it was pure speculation that any parts were disabled and it needs no update there. What does "pure speculation" mean? ABT's readers are always directed to ABT forum where i did confirm that there are no "hidden parts".

i like AMD. CPU and Graphics, and i have always liked AMD. However, their toleration of viral marketing is hurting them and their image. i really do not think that, either their CEO is unaware of it, or perhaps he is already cleaning house and making the formerly paid shills even more bitter having recently lost their source of free HW.

If he cleans it up, he is brilliant and there is a great chance to make AMD even better.

Trust me, I realize. I'm just having fun driving the boot into them at the moment, that's all.
