I'm betting that all the AMD fanboys will say the graphics look no beter than direct x 9 and the game sucks anyway. any takers? Good time to have one of those broken, hot, power hungry gtx4xx cards vs a 5xxx series. A little mini review of the patch with a gtx580 at VR zone. AMD cards tomorrow in part 2. http://vr-zone.com/articles/crysis-2-wo ... 12763.html

The fanATIcs are probably all being briefed and readied for forum war as we speak at MAD Viral HQ.
Oh, and I believe it should probably be obvious by now, what nvidia used the 2 million of developer assistance money they provided for. If not for them, Crysis 2 would remain just another average console port.

AMD cards tomorrow in part 2. http://vr-zone.com/articles/crysis-2-wo ... 12763.htmlI wouldn't go that far. Reading through the threads, it would seem that your beloved 4 and 5 series Nvidia cards are maxing out on VRAM with this game. Hmmm...I guess those AMD 6 series with the 2 gig framebuffer was excellent foresight. And, I for one, would never take that nuclear reactor 480/470 over a 5870 or 6970 just for Crysis 2. Oh ya, let's hope that Nvidia doesn't create anymore drivers that will cook their cards again..See, two can play at the game. You accuse others of being an AMD fanboy, yet all your threads reek of fanboism. I like you Happy, but when I read some of your posts, I don't understand all the venom geared towards AMD.

What I can't stand is that Nvidia fans are using it as a poster child to gloat with. It's a good game. no doubt. Now, it's even better with the added DX11 goodies. But, I don't think most people are going to sell their AMD 5 series because of it. You can just use that little slider that and lower the Tess a little bit I don't think that this is the holy grail of games that will somehow make AMD fans cry in agony. Also, from what I've seen, I don't see many people complaining about their 5 series cards. Most people are just happy about the patch in general.

Unfortunately, i would have to make a choice to be a HW reviewer (primarily) *or* a game reviewer - it is impossible to balance both .. i had to turn down a very important HW review to do 3 game reviews (DNF/Alice/Dungeon Siege III) ... only one is a full game review; the other two will be "performance" reviews (although i will cover Alice as far as i played it). i really enjoy doing both but i will have to be very careful to pick and choose what i review. - i'd say that you can expect a performance review of DX 11 Crysis 2 and full game reviews of Deus Ex HR and Max Payne 3. The rest of the time, i'll be back to reviewing HW Unless you think i should stick to games Naw No way. Stick to HW reviews, bro. They are always top notch.

Well, you do know that it goes back and forth with each side touting their "advantages" When Fermi was late, everything from AMD Graphics was about Tessellation and DX11. When Nvidia surpassed AMD in Tessellation, it gets downplayed now. Now that Nvidia has PhysX, that is all you hear about (and 3D). Quote: No way. Stick to HW reviews, bro. They are always top notch. i am going to mostly do HW reviews and i will also review a few games a year. i finished Alice so you can expect a full game review this weekend (after the SSD review). It keeps it more interesting for me.

Given the amount of 3D pushing/peddling you personally have been doing here, I don't think you are in any position to complain.... Was this a condition of you receiving the 3D Vision kit in the first place? edited i have been of the opinion that S3D is the "next big thing" in gaming. That it will be mainstream with the next generation of consoles and games will be developed with it in mind. Physics also which adds to the immersion. i have said this for over two years after demoing S3D at the trade shows very consistently. Now that i have spent over 90 days evaluating 3D Vision with over 70 games - including playing 3 new games from start to finish with it - i can only be more certain. My position has not changed and i am consistent for two years. Nvidia doesn't put any conditions that i am aware of on their evaluation HW (other than it be a published timely review - and they ask the same thing that AMD does - "be thorough and be fair"). When/if AMD sends me a S3D kit for evaluation, i will give it the same thorough testing. i don't see me "pushing' or peddling anything. i share my findings and what i think. i think S3D adds to game immersion.
