There is a built in batch file (just like the ones for crysis and warhead) that you can use for a quick benchmark, but there are other levels and places that show the tesselation and performance impact much better.

Here is how the benchmark works:
(- i did a C&P of a forum post that the members said worked fine; i am going to PLAY the game first before running the benchmarks)

Crysis(R) 2
NVidia oaMan Benchmark ReadMe File - June, 2011
============================================================ ===========================================

This readme file will explain how to setup and run a Crysis 2 benchmark by using NVidia's oaMan tool.

============================================================ ===========================================
System Requirements
============================================================ ===========================================

• Crysis 2 installation

• Crysis updated to patch 1.9 (download from http://www.mycrysis.com )

============================================================ ===========================================
Important Notes
============================================================ ===========================================

• To get the tool running properly Crysis 2 MUST be installed into a path and directory without any
spaces (e.g. “\My Games – 1\Crysis 2” does NOT work, “\Games\Crysis2” does work)

• To use the benchmark tool please rename the Crysis 2 folder to Crysis2 and change it back to the
original name afterwards if needed

============================================================ ===========================================
Installation Instructions
============================================================ ===========================================

01. Download oaMan from: http://developer.nvidia.com/content/oaman-ui-tool
02. Extract the oaman.zip file into a directory on your HDD
03. Start the oaman.exe
04. Click on Application > Add OA Application
05. Navigate to the Crysis2.exe which is located inside \Bin32 of your Crysis 2 installation
06. Leave the “Command Line arguments” window empty and click “OK”
07. oaMan output in the Log should be:
GetOaAppInfo : Getting benchmark information of application [Crysis2.exe]
getInfoThread : Start getting application information
08. Crysis 2 should start and close itself again and the log should say:
getInfoThread : Benchmark [] | [benchmark.cfg] found
Add benchmark [benchmark] to application list
getInfoThread : Exit Successfully
GetOaAppInfo : Successfully get benchmark information
09. Right click on Crysis2.exe in the Application List and select “Add to benchmark list”
10. Make your custom settings for the benchmark via the available options for Crysis2.exe and the
respective benchmark
11. The game should now appear in the Benchmark List on the right side
12. To start the benchmark click on Benchmarks menu point > Run benchmarks > Run all benchmarks
13. The benchmark will now start
14. Once the benchmark is done you can save your results by clicking on the menu point
Benchmarks > Save results
15. You will also see the Avg (Average), Min (Minimum) and Max (Maximum) FPS (Frames Per Second) in
the Benchmark List next to the benchmark you have just run

============================================================ ===========================================
Tipps & Tricks
============================================================ ===========================================

You can have multiple benchmarks for Crysis 2 added to the Benchmark list – just repeat step 9 and
customize the benchmark setting afterwards.

It is also possible to run any set of benchmarks by multi-selecting them from the list.

============================================================ ===========================================
End of ReadMe File.

So, this oaMan benchmark tool tests other places that the batch file the game ships with? If so I'll have to try it (have no worries with spaces in the game install path).

Please try it and report back!

You are running GTX 460/2GB in SLI, right? You should have plenty of vRAM; i may have to load up GTX 590 to be able to get 2560x1600 running really well with ultra details (considering what 560 Ti SLI is getting at 1080)

I'll see what I can do when I get enough free time to give it a go.

Cool. Have you already finished Crysis 2? i am just starting. i have some publishing to do also. i probably won't get to the benchmark until next week.

i must say that i am very impressed with the visuals. The game isn't quite sandbox but there appear to be several alternatives in a player's approach to gameplay and several ways to complete each objective.

(i'll be disappointed if it isn't better than DNF)
:D

Just a heads up, the AMD 11.7 drivers are leaked on the internet and should give Crysis 2 a boost.

i hate to say this .. but if you have a choice you actually play Crysis 2 on Nvidia HW when the DX11 patch is first released. Just like with TW Shogun II and DA:O played better on AMD HW for the first couple of weeks.

By the time i get Crysis 2 into my benching suite and do a performance article up, Catalyst 11-7 will be out and then we can see how AMD HW really does with DX11 and tessellation.

I'm about a third of the way in I'd guess, and then (as often happens with me) I got distracted by an RPG, but I'll keep coming back to it until I finish it off. Would like to get hold of a 1.9 nocd so I'm not forced to keep the disc in to play (I hate that).

Now i gotta ask .. which RPG derailed Crysis 2?

What do you think of the DX11 pack as a graphics upgrade?
- and do you get some occasional texture flashing in some places?

Neverwinter Nights 2 plus its expansions actually. The original campaign is a lot less buggy now and I've never played mask of the betrayer, storm of zehir and mysteries of westgate before. Planning on picking up Dungeon Siege 3 as soon as there is a decent special on it, so I expect to sink quite a few free hours into RPG gaming in the near future, with a little Assassins Creed or FPS side action on the side.

There isn't much texture flashing going on that wasn't happening before, and the graphics do look better compared to the old DX9 mode that I did most of my play through in (just tried the builtin benchmark and ran around my last save point a little so far on the new patch).
