Ignore the f**king assholes over at anandtech. You nailed it spot on. It's anywhere from 0-20% faster than the gtx580 at 1920x1200 resolution. This card will be short lived.

i am probably talking to AMD PR over there. Besides the viral monkeys

i think i will stop posting there. It is pit of viral shills and fanboys where you really have to go through a gauntlet of garbage to pick out the gems. If you guys will keep me informed of what goes on over there - i won't go back. Let's make ABT forum that Anandtech should have been - could have been. i know how; i learned from them as a video mod.

Yes, Dead on from reading the chart of the first review. i have great insider contacts. And i did prove something tonight over there. i no longer have to worry about my credibility.

Now AMD has a choice - they can have me review their video cards under NDA, or i will bust every launch that they do in the future. Either way works out very well for us. However, i would much rather be a partner with AMD Graphics, if i had my choice. i have never leaked anything from any vendor when i was under NDA.



And HD 7990 is inconsistent and expensive. But still definitely the fastest GPU overall. Hats off to AMD for this one. Good strategy .. that may backfire.

Tessellation performance is through the roof. Destroys the gtx580. But in every game they have benchmarked:

bf3 < 20% faster than gtx580
batman AC < 10% faster
crysis 2 < 10% faster
AvP < 20% faster
sf4 - slower than gtx580

Wow. Pretty crappy for their new flagship card.

Wow .. this one is worse than we thought. BF3 is the gem in AMD's 7970 benchmark list. An overclocked GTX 580 makes up a lot of ground on the stock HD 7970. Overclocked the 7970 starts to shine

So a respin will probably be here in 5 months.

You think AMD will forgive me by then (if i stop posting at ATF)?

Honestly I am not seeing the price as that much of problem,
but the performance gains against the 2 year old arch. built on a 3 year old nod is very inadequate.
