i thought of this - but then there are so many comparisons; some want to see stock vs clock. i need to look into a way to post customizable charts that the reader can set up for himself. grstanford wrote: Allow me to mangle your chart. I find the way I did it far easier to read because "like" sits next to "like" and I don't have to look from one side of the chart to the other to see how "like" compares.

It's right where we predicted (well, some of us!), not 30% better, but about 5-20% (depending on app). I knew $500 for a 40% increase was highly unlikely.
Awesome card for the price, efficiency and features. Oh, and performance too!

Thanks, that made it much easier for me to calculate the exact percentage from the chart, which is 5.99% (see data show the percentage difference for each game/resolution, including the 3Dmark/heaven): 28.0 13.6 13.9 21.2 -8.0 2.8 -83.1 -57.9 -6.4 1.5 -1.7 3.8 4.6 11.0 24.0 32.8 5.7 16.4 15.7 23.1 -6.5 -1.0 -15.1 -10.8 -5.1 2.3 0 9.4 -7.2 -6.5 16.1 20.6 14.5 18.0 18.2 25.0 10.7 14.6 12.4 20.3 15.6 20.9 -1.6 5.5 18.4 25.7 Average: 6.0% faster than HD 7970 (and also +5.64% for Surround vs Eyefinity benches). However, other sites show it to be much faster, like: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/ha ... ew-29.htmlhttp://www.pcper.com, http://www.pureoverclock.com, tomshardware.com, xbitlabs.com, anandtech, etc.. Nvidia must've bribed Kyle over at [H] big time this time!!!!!!!! Hmm, I'm gonna sound like a strange kind of cross between a donkey and an ox .. (@$$), and say that this http://www.eteknix.com/reviews/graphics ... rd-review/ is evidence that GTX 680 beats HD 7970 at 3x1080p. Just kidding to you dear FanATIcs!

I'm waiting on re-unified drivers to appear and then I'd be interested in see the same chart updated, since there are different forceware versions happening at the moment.

More than the previous 3 night combined!! And now i got to finish up my left-over work .. image links for all the front page articles ... a Genius earbud/ring presenter review by Mario and a Thermaltake CPU cooler review by me Then back to work with the GTX 680 vs. HD 7970 .. and i asked for more HW to review

apoppin wrote: That was a good read. GK104's release entirely confirms the theories myself, keys, and other people had that Kepler would have more divergent cores - the big core being compute focused like Fermi, but the lesser cores ending up more graphics focused than the lesser fermi's. I think it's a great overall strategy... at least from GK104's perspective.

Yep, could see this direction emerging from the moment GF104 hit.
