I'd buy a 680 right now if I could use as much voltage as I wanted.

No, but they'll use unlocked cards with modded bios end users can't even flash to market them...
Pretty retarded and shitty if you ask me.
Look what I can get with my non shitty 680, ahaha! Yeah.

Those people can simply not adjust voltage past what they deem reasonable or not at all (though the 680 is auto adjusting on it's own).
Those of us that like to overclock and augment cooling are SooL, whats the point of water cooling a 680, it's not loud and you can't increase voltage anyways... It's like SB in that respect, does well enough on air, water gives barely any benefit and LN2 is a waste of time.
It's just lame you can't really do anything to improve your $500 investment. It's a great card, but for a next gen card and as a top tier card it's less impressive from an overclockers perspective.
Which is why I find the KingPin advertisements douchey, carrot on a stick and all of that.

However, i have been able to adjust the voltage upward on a GTX 680 using PrecisionX to increase my overclock over stock voltage. So has HardOCP. i don't know what forum posters are complaining about

The limit of the voltage tuning I guess, KingPin used 1212mv with powertune set to 200%.
It seems the guy who made Nibitor is working on a version for Kepler, I dunno if he's going to be able to change the voltage table though or the TDP limiter.

The limit? i think Nividia didn't want a repeat of possible deliberate damage of the GTX 590.
And i am pretty sure the voltage limits will be adjusted upward. Someone will be able rewrite the BIOS for the extreme overclockers - clearly someone did for Kingpin. He got a regular card, didn't he? The BIOS makes all the difference afaiK.

Yeah but they're slightly different than Fermi, they require a digital sigiture, however they're hex editing it and figuring out they can modify some parts without corrupting the digital signature.
King Pin works for EVGA afaik, he got his modded bios directly from them and his results are part of EVGAs marketing (at least as far as I can tell).
