Yes, yes it does.

Come a long way since my initial build in 2010 of a Regor 245 and a 9800 GT :D

I see your a dedicate PC man.
I love PCs. Its gonna be sad when they finally phase out :(

i cant even enjoy my laptop. It makes me feel like i am cheating on my desktop >:)

Anyway what cpu are you sporting? I still rock'n my socket 775. A Q6600 at that. currently its a mere 3.4ghz. Also rock'n 4gb on windows7 32bit

I have been slacking these last couple yrs. Lets go back just a few years. After my opteron 180:

the CPU side of things I had a phenom2 x4 (720 unlocked) and sold that system. Then I bought a q9400 and overclocked it. was a little disappointed that my older q6600 was faster when they were both overclocked max. So i dropped the q6600 in my newer ddr3 motherboard and clocked it to 3.7ghz. I never went back to the 9400 but i have dropped down my overclock some 300mhz. I dont have to push volts up and its not a lot of difference.

As far as GPUs, i have been fairly active. the 8800gt-gtx260-hd5850-gtx460-gtx560ti 448core.

thats an update. I am almost ready to give the q6600 a retirement. As soon as i get some time off. I still havent beat batman AC and i had it for months. I feel the itch though.............maybe i could hold out till holidays................and bigK.............maybe...............

Opteron 180?? Wow, that was expensive, right? I hunted around for Opteron 170 and 175 steppings that were just as good as those used for Opteron 185's! :D

Q6600 is starting to show its age. It's problem is that it cannot be overclocked to 4GHz (easily)

Q9550S is still modern and will mostly keep up with the latest CPUs to the limits of its overclock. And of course, Bloomfield is still a great gaming CPU at 4GHz

Quad-core, not a dual core, really, though. I think a Q6600 at 3.6 GHz is still good for any single GPU card under 150 Voodoopower.

Duo should still hang is the dual threaded titles, of which the list is vastly larger than those that support quad or greater shouldn't it?

And those that support quad is now vast, making the duo hang not any bigger.

but honestly the q9400 i had was not faster than the q6600. I could only get it overclocked to 3.4ish. My q6600 (g0) was able to hit 3.7ghz rock solid and i was only being held back by temps. Both overclocked, the q6600 beat my q9400 in every way. if i had better than a thermaltake 120 i prolly shouldve been able to go higher even. But i never did go for it. i actually went backwards.....

since then, i dropped the clocks to 3.4. I would go 3.6 if i needed it. And lately i havent a need for the extra 200mhz. Its been 3.4 for a long long while. The good thing is at 3.4 i still have my power savings features and my cpu volts are a low 1.34.

after buying a q9400 and wasting my money i really wanted to hold out for awhile. I was waiting for Bulldozer, but that went up in smoke. The i seen SB and set my goal to upgrade to IB. Now after seeing IB, i might actually go with SB. Really i am on the fence. my plan was to get the 7950 and then IB. Then i got a steal on the evga ftw 560 448core which is essentially a gtx570 stock. I got a super great deal on it, i think i only had 200 in it and this was january. So then i was like, i guess i will wait for nvidias 28nm line up to upgrade. and now i am here. I dont think the 680 is gonna give me the boost i am looking for. I want to build a system that blows me away. At this point, i think i might hold out for the holidays........maybe then i will be sucked in....

I just cannot believe how long this cpu has lasted me, its freakn crazy!!! I still get extremely decent fps. the benchmarks i see here and there for a gtx570 are not far from what i get with this old CPU. I just dont play many CPU demanding games i guess. Anyway, i havent checked much lately. I got some time off from work this week, i think i might mess around a bit. See how much this core2 quad is bottle-necking my poor mans 570!!!!!
