How much do you think the GTX 670 is going to sell for? i think that matters the most whether the HD 7970 drops to $370 or not.

IF the GTX 670 is faster and sells for what the GTX 570 sold for at launch ($370), how will AMD be forced to \\ respond

They will gouge us and charge $450 for the 670 IMO.

Like they did with the GTX 680? With the same introductory pricing that the 580 launched at.

IF Nvidia is as smart as we are - and they are at the least very good at strategy and have the best planning in the industry - they will price low to gain friends and fans and hurt AMD as much as possible in every way by causing maximum disruption to their pricing - twice in two months. This is a horrible situation for AMD with a hotter when overclocked, less efficient, slower and probably more expensive card that now alienates their fans who will have paid over $150 more for far less (and they don't even get the 3 free games now).

AMD had no vision to get themselves into this position. Shocking lack of business sense. We predicted this scenario accurately in December - before the HD 7970 launched!

If they make that the price point, AMD fans are not going to be too happy

I'm betting on a $399 price, if the performance delta in TT's review between it and the gtx680 holds across most reviews. It would be a smaller gap than what was between the gtx580 and gtx570, AND it will have the same amount of ram as it's bigger brother, unlike the gtx580 and gtx570.

If i was in charge of Nvidia's pricing, i'd bring in the bottom priced edition at $349 and watch AMD's house of cards collapse right down the line. It will hurt their bread and butter margins of the HD 7870/7850 and make it pointless to bring out the rest of their lineup except as OEM


Personally i expect it to be $379 - same as GTX 570 - although i have absolutely no knowledge of what Nvidia will actually price it at

AMD would still own the $250-350 market.

How much longer do you think we will have to wait for the GTX 660Ti? And i expect a blow out of Nvidia's 500 series cards to combat AMD's 7800 series.

At Nvidia's rate of release of new products, it would be next month. And how many people are going to be waiting for it or paying inflated pricing now for the HD 7870/7850? AMD would need to drop their pricing to make sense of their flagship now selling for below $400

I heard the 660 won't be out for at least another 6 months.
