Thanks. Not sure why I did very high in farcry2. It seemed like a good idea at the time, probably because I also did DX9 tests on the GTX 460's and it performs a lot worse in Dx9 than it does in DX10.

OP, you put a lot of work into your "review" and i am sure that there are people out there that might find it useful. I dont know why there are so many haters, its kinda strange.

Isn't it obvious? The GTX 560 SE card is hugely popular among average non-enthusiast comsumers, much to the chagrin of the FanATIcs who think everybody should be purchasing AMD mid-range cards, hence the attacks over at the other forum. AMD can only fantasize about having their mid-range sell like GTX560's of all flavors do.

I'm not done benchmarking yet by the way, will be updating soon with extra results and yes, it is somewhat relevant to that other thread too.

Greg the problem with that thread was OP was involved in thread crapping in other threads. They took it out on OP on that thread. After couple of posts I backed out for safety :D

That was certainly part of it, but the FanATIcs absolutely HATE the GTX 560-SE and GTX 460-SE, and try to trash them any chance they get, because most consumers will choose one over an AMD mid-range card. I have experience with GTX 460 SE's, and I'll be bringing it to bear in the next few days (have to retrieve one from my sisters machine first).

Isn't it *obvious* about the leaning of VC&G?
- we know for a fact that AMD employees post there freely without disclosure. And they attack their competitor - which is also ostensibly forbidden by AMD. Stealth marketing at its absolute worst. And most people are in denial about it

For once, their mod got it right:

I've just finished issuing a ton of infractions, warnings and mod-editing posts.

What is wrong with you people? A member did a review, and all some of you can do is crap on it, or crap on the OP for not having a better (in your POV) card, or not having a card you prefer?

This isn't a "what card is best" thread. It's just a review thread. Stop crapping on it. You can question the methodology, the accuracy of the results, the selection of games, those are fine. But if all you are going to say amounts to "this is useless, I hate the card being reviewed", then please do not post at all.

To the OP, please do not butcher your own thread next time, and avoid participating in off-topic arguments; you basically contributed to the derail as well. Report posts, then leave them be. Also, stop throwing around "troll" against everybody who disagrees with you.

Just came across a nice Crysis 1 benchmark utility for those intimitated by finding and running the built-in benchmarks and finding the logs files (not difficult to do, really imo). It also has a neat timedemo of the assault harbor level which you can benchmark with (need to copy the time-demo files into the harbor level folder, unfortunately it doesn't automate that bit). Plenty of action, that you would normally be doing yourself in game.

It's hard not to get drawn into the nonsense over there. Everyone seems to hate Gordon Freemen. He actually went at me a couple of times and started posting quite a bit of FUD before I retaliated in his thread. I feel bad about it now and I accept the infractions I received wholeheartedly.

Yes, he posts some pretty annoying stuff that he seems to make up.

However, in any forum, instead of retaliating, simply report the posts ... or, put him on the ignore/enemy list.

Then you don't have to read his drivel and you won't get infracted
:)

What is an infraction? You get a certain number and you get a short 'vacation'

I think the mods there should do what is done on the Australian Whirlpool forums. Unacceptable posts get hidden, so the thread can be read minus the derails.
