Why do you think I said "screw AMD" back before BullSh!t launched and purchased my 2600K? I still don't understand the apoppin reacted to that and the way he attacked me over it.

Anyone have any idea why FEAR scores so low on the intel vs the AMD? That's a mystery.

I take back what I said. These are great benchmarks.

I'm really surprised that AMD can't develop a killer gaming CPU. That should be their focus right now, or at least part of it. It would really compliment their GPUs. I would go all AMD with my rig if I could.

AMD tried to build a Killer Gaming CPU - their FX series. Unfortunately, it didn't work out like they planned.

No idea on FEAR. i will try to look at it when i do my own CPU platform comparison. BFG10K would probably be the guy to ask but he doesn't come around here any longer and i don't post at VC&G.

The only thing I can think is I just reused my old FEAR install (must have had a K7 2400+ when I installed it) and it somehow optimized itself for AMD at install, maybe I need to re-install it.

That doesn't sound too likely. But it is an easy install if you install the last expansion instead of the 7 or 8 patches you need to patch the original.
