Fixed. The last one is with a 15.6" notebook in front of it, for comparison purposes.

Very nice!

You are coming from 24" and 1920x1080? What are your impressions of playing on a larger screen?

Coming from a 25.5" 1920x1200. This screen is noticeably wider, and the colors are much, much more vivid. The forums have been loading incredibly slow lately. I've been anxious to post my video card impressions, but it's really annoying to have to wait a minute or two just for the forums and this particular thread to load!

MSI POWER EDITION GTX 670 impressions!

Here's a quick summary of what I've experienced so far.

Max boost speeds at stock settings are 1229mhz.
Max OC'd boost speeds with the power slider maxed out is 1269mhz. (+40 on the core) A little disappointing.
Max OC'd vram speed is 7200mhz.

Afterburner currently does not support voltage adjustments on the core, vram, and PLL. Supposedly it will soon, though. With the fan profile set to ramp up to 50%, the fan is barely audible (cannot hear it over fairly quiet to normal computer speaker volume) when fully enclosed in the case and temps max out at 67 degrees Celsius in Heaven and 63 degrees in gaming benchmarks when the room temperature is 75 degrees Fahrenheit (28.8 Celsius). I look forward to getting voltage adjustments. I'm not going to hold my breath that it will happen, despite the box clearly saying it can AND MSI reps saying that it's coming.

Annoyingly, once Windows start loading, the fans ramp up to high speeds and will not ramp down until afterburner is loaded.

I noticed with my GTX 670's the first time I hooked up a monitor to any DVI port the green signal would be purple in games for a minute or two, and then things would correct. Only ever happened the first time a port got used. Weird, almost as though the chip was trying to work out the bandwidth of the DVi port (purple corruption is usually caused by insufficient bandwidth).

IPS, even the budget variant used in these screens just blows TN away. TN is truly craptacular in comparison.

TN has it's uses; especially 120Hz :P
- IPS is blurry in comparison for fast paced shooters.

And the LCD used in this display is evidently not budget - it is evidently the same A- panel also used by Apple (as an A display)

Nope. IPS isn't blurry, not in games like Farcry, Test Drive Unlimited, etc that are very fast paced indeed on SLI'd 670's with a 2600K jet propelling them.

If you want to criticize IPS you could mention the light leakage on really dark scenes in a dark room, that's about their only weak point.

as for 120 hz monitors, well most of thse cheap IPS monitors can be overclocked to 100 hz, can they not, and LG isn't far off releasing an improved version of the tech. TN's last strong point might just disappear on them.

Unfortunately, you have nothing to compare with. Your crappy 60Hz TN does not count
