Update: Alan Wake for PC *Confirmed* for Steam next month

i know some guys who bought quad core CPUs in anticipation of this upcoming game
(hamster)

Clearly MS is pushing XBox platform ahead of Windows Gaming.

Alan Wake may have begun its life as a PC game but now its publisher Microsoft has apparently confirmed that the long awaited action title from Remedy Entertainment will now be an Xbox 360 exclusive with no plans at all to bring the game to the PC.

An official statement from Microsoft, posted at Strategy Informer, states that the publisher felt that the game was best suited to be played "from the couch in front of a larger TV screen".

consoles are being pushed ahead of PCs, which is clear when you look at the delayed releases on PC compared to consoles and ports in the last few years

Don't even get me started! (bbars)
You walk into any retail type store and ask about used PC games today........? And you'll be laughed out the door.

f**k YOU Steam! This is the cause.

Utter ignorance in that last post
(joint)

Steam has ZERO to do with Microsoft - steam is small potatoes in gaming

- this is MS destroying their own PC gaming for Windows to push their demented XBox platform which has been losing money for them since the beginning.

No wonder people hate that demented giant beast of a company. They screwed up Vista and screwed over gamers and they are on a roll with their warmed over 7 OS which is Vista all over again. Too bad there is no other real choice for gaming.

Alan Wake will work with Nvision 3D, though you’ll need a top end PC to harness the power of that extra dimension. There won’t be a demo, either, but as previously mentioned, we won’t have to mess around with Games for Windows Live either. Hooray for that!

OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
PROCESSOR: A dual core processor is required:
AMD: Athlon X2 2.8GHz
Intel: Core 2 Duo 2GHz
MEMORY: 2 GB
HARD DRIVE: 8 GB
VIDEO CARD: DirectX 10 compatible or later with 512MB RAM
AMD: ATI Radeon 3650, 4450, 5550, 6450 or higher (per series)
NVIDIA: GeForce 8600GT, 9500GT, GT120, GT430, GT520 (per series)
SOUND CARD: DirectX 9.0c compatible
INPUT: Mouse and keyboard, Xbox360 controller also supported

I'm sure I'll buy it even though my backlog of games is ever growing.
