Quote: “We do use tessellation; this was one of the first features we started making use of with DX11. We mainly used it to improve character silhouettes, but also used it for some other objects in the world.
“In Deus Ex: Human Revolution you see characters up close a lot as you interact with them, like in dialogues. Using tessellation to improve their look really helps make the world and the characters more believable, which is important in a story-heavy game like Deus Ex: Human Revolution.”
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/05 ... -acronyms/source: PC Gamer Quote: Unlike other shooters released on the market, the third installment in the Deus Ex series will have native support for 3D, Eyefinity and DirectX 11... no extra patching required.
ZoomPC Gamer reports that Square Enix's upcoming third installment to the Deus Ex franchise will support DirectX 11 for the PC right out of the box (unlike Crysis 2). The game will also come packed with AMD Eyefinity support for spreading the visuals across five displays, and will run in 3D mode for those with compatible screens.
The good news for PC gamers is that DirectX 11, AMD Eyefinity and 3D support aren't features that will be tacked on in the final stages of production. Eidos Montreal director of technology Julien Bouvrai assured fans that these features were embedded from the start. This indicates that the PC version isn't necessarily a "port" as originally believed, and an important step in re-establishing the PC platform as an important audience despite the industry's console focus. All of the success of Deus Ex owes everything to its original PC-oriented original version. Here's to hoping that it has the PC magic once again.. the same goes for Diablo 3.

Oh bullsh!t
We need the dancing bears and the chorus girls singing, "We'd like to teach the world to forget quality and focus on the glitz"
DeusSex was fUgly --- a awful looking game and yet it played well and rose above the sum of its parts to become a classic. i have my doubts that these guys can get it half right.

Hey, it wasn't half as ugly as System Shock 2! SS2 was goshdarn ugly that Half Life 1 looked so pretty. I have fond memories of Deus Ex, and thought it was a pretty Unreal-based game myself! The Statue of Liberty area and Hell's Kitchen areas were amazingly accurate that when I visited the real Statue of Liberty in NYC a few years later, it's like as if I already knew the entire place like the back of my hand. A strange, but cool feeling!

I'm prepared for disappointment, trust me. I'd be shocked if any modern publisher could turn out something to the same standard as the original DeusEx.
I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised and shocked, but I'm not expecting it. The consolitis disease has tentacles like you would not believe.

drofnatsg wrote: The consolitis disease has tentacles like you would not believe. LOL! Yeah, I agree with you that there's no way Deus Ex 3 will be as good as the original.. but if it's 90% as good, then I'll be happy. It might just be a flop that's boosted with PC features like Mafia 2, rather than saved by it. I'm hoping for a game like NOLF (No One Lives Forever) 3. The first 2 were awesome games, but I didn't like the endless enemy spawning in the sequel. I played the entire original game (DX7 graphics) in 3D, hehe..
