i am SO looking forward to this game. i saw a very long preview at Editor's Day and it is a must have for me.

It is set in the favelas (ghettos) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the Portuguese gutter slang is dead on. Max looks great and the visuals are spectacular
Quote:
Matias Myllyrinne, CEO of Remedy Entertainment, commented to GamesIndustry International about Rockstar's new game: "It's f***ing brilliant. I've had a chance to play it and we've worked with Rockstar a little bit - obviously, they're doing the heavy lifting. They're doing the development. But they wanted our input on a couple of occasions and we've had loads of our people, our core group, who worked on the first two games, give input and it's awesome."

Myllyrinne continued, noting Rockstar's passion for the Max Payne IP and creating finely crafted titles in general.

"Those guys, they just don't put out bad games. And so, in that respect, it's very - it's almost like the best position to be in. It's like somebody's making a great game and you just get to give them input, and it's already brilliant so I've enjoyed it," he said. "I can't obviously - I don't want to give any spoilers and can't give out any spoilers, but it's a testament to their attention to detail and it's a testament to their passion and dedication. It'll be worth the wait."

i wish i could show you what they previewed. There may be some leaks on YouTube as i saw that Borderlands 2 was also leaked at it appeared to be from the Kepler briefing.

The journalists were supposed to have their cameras off during the previews.

The *gameplay* looked good - just like the earlier 2 games in the series. i will take a brief 'vacation' from things ABT-related as i play the game when it is released.
:good:

I'm so frustrated with this level of graphic quality. Sure, this game could be awesome for all we know, but we're so held back by the consoles. It doesn't look any better than Crysis which came out what, 5 years ago?

i think it is twiimtbp; it was featured at Kepler GTX 680 Editor's day. Maybe a 5 minute preview of clearing out an objective with emphasis on the sniper rifle and protecting your associate from a well-armed gang in a stadium.

Doesn't look better than Crysis? Crysis set the bar way high. There are few games in its company nevermind beating its visuals

Never played any of them. I always wanted the first Max Payne, but back in the day, my video card was not up to snuff.

I learned my lesson pretty quick though. My first good card that gave me an enormous boost from a previous card was my 8800gts/640.

Max Payne 2 still looks decent for an old 2003 game. It is really very good with 3D Vision 2 with everything fully maxed out. i am really looking forward to this one.

Max Payne 2 looks odd nowadays, like a lot of older games. Very flat. All the textures look like wallpaper stuck on simple objects.
