http://www.techpowerup.com/166910/Doom- ... osted.html"For all those who missed the 2004 cult classic Doom 3, Bethesda and id are remastering it for today's gaming platforms (widescreen PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3). Called Doom 3 BFG Edition, the new title includes the entire back catalogue of the Doom franchise, plus Doom 3 (main and Resurrection of Evil) with added levels, that's remastered (our wishlist includes higher resolution textures, improved special effects, tessellation maps, and EAX 4-like sound effects over software). What's more, the perspective will finally be optimized for 16:9 and 16:10 widescreen displays. "

Here's my favorite quote about it http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.ph ... stcount=54Quote: Doom 3 is one of my favorite FPSes of all time, but this remake is questionable.
I like the extra levels and armor flashlight, but adding more ammunition will make it too easy. There was already plenty of ammunition in the first game. Also the videos don’t look any better than the original PC version. Quote: They're remaking it for the console crowd, so any semblance of smart play or ammo conservation has to go completely out the window.
I also fully expect a lighted path on the ground at all times showing you where to go, or hopefully tool reminders popping up, reminding me that pushing the left thumbstick forward will move my character forward. Kill ... kill ... kill ... kill ... kill ... Kill ... use us ... Kill ... kill ... kill ... kill ... kill ... Kill ... use us ...

i am looking forward to Doom IV. It will be another playable tech demo and hopefully they will include a benchmark for $65
What a suck game Doom 3 is. It is 8 years old and they money grabbers are remaking it for 7 year old consoles - so what? In the future they don't have armor mounted lights; at least they fixed something.
it was a boring game with cheap "boos" for effect. It was tolerable until after the Guardian, then it went to hell. - that Soul Cube killed the game. It was a like a cheat and then it was a walkthrough (which i was very glad by then).
i played it and sold it for a $10 loss. Finished it in a few days so i could get my money out of it. i didn't want any resurrection or expansion of Evil gaming then and my standards haven't dropped in 8 years so that i could forget how bad it was and be ripped off again.
