That's good to know, means it won't be a total waste purchasing a game merely to be a benchmark.

BF3 is a suck single player experience. One of the worst in a AAA title. It is MP with a weak SP campaign tacked on

Thanks for the warning.

The graphics ARE good! Think of BF3's SP like something id would put out - a playable tech demo.
-- the MP in BF3 is where it's at, however

I'll still wait until it is in the bargain bin. None of ID's games really excited me gameplay wise, it was the way others used ID's engine that was great.

Honestly that's the best strategy, and it probably makes sense to use slightly less high end hardware as well to get the best value out of PC gaming.

It is exciting to run the newest games on great hardware, though. I look at PC gaming as a cheap hobby compared to most other things.

It is too, for the most part. Games have been way overpriced though, but things are improving there, and I'm always patient enough to wait. I've got a big backlog of games to play already, plus favorites I can entertain myselft with in the absence of the latest and greatest. I've never been one to feel the need to "keep up with the Jones's"

I just find it's getting harder and harder to find cheap PC games at retail outlets. The consoles are just completely dominating the stores like Gamestop. You'll be lucky to find a tiny shelf of PC games. I've never seen such total console domination like this before. The things are 6+ years old at this point as well, it's nuts.

GameStop is Okay in its EB games incarnation. The local EB Games is where I buy most of my games. just wait for the sales. Perhaps it's different in the US.
