You are right. There is no time for BF3 this month.
:(

i also got invited to the Beta for End of Nations and i have to do the D/L on my unmetered time if possible. i hope it isn't huge
-- from the instructions - it made me LoL

Click the UPDATE button. The first time you do this, there may be a large download which can take an hour or two to complete.

. . . an hour or two to complete ... obviously they have never heard about "Satellite broadband"
(lld)

Actually it is only 3.37GB D/L. Not too bad. i will get it one way or another.

I will feel bad for you if your downloads don't complete before you're capped again.

i got about 5.5GB of D/Ling to go until 11 PM Pacific Time when the bandwidth is again measured; 6 hours should get me 3-4GB and i will only have to worry about 2GB that is counted. We had a severe thunderstorm this morning that lasted for nearly an hour and not only dumped over an inch of rain but it shut off the Satellite connection. Considering that i missed 6 hours of downloading because i forgot it was the 30th yesterday, i did pretty good. i got nearly 15GB of downloading done and will have over 18GB total tonight

35GB of downloads for July is not bad for a 17GB monthly cap - best of all it is "undocumented" (no big jam up for all subscribers since they simply don't know about it) and i feel good about it - considering that WildBlue is probably the most hated ISP there is in America.

i'm going to eventually dump WildBlue for HughesNet and do a comparison article that the WildBlue CEO will no doubt love

My Internet went down last night (coincidence? :P) and i *still* managed to grab all the files i needed (except for BF3)
- about 2GB of misc d/ls, nearly 4GB of End of Nations, over 14GB of The Secret World .. and i only used 2.5GB of my bandwidth allotment after the free undocumented period ended.
(or 35GB total bandwidth for July on a 17GB cap - the *only* reason i keep WildBlue)
:)

Just a reminder for those of us stuck with WB and their ridiculous 17GB cap
.. unmetered bandwidth is available at 12:01 CST tomorrow AM, September 30th until October 1st (12:01) - that's 24 hours of unmetered "free" bandwidth!
:hello:

i need to get updated on a few things including the Black Mesa mod. Maybe i can get the latest BF3 patch also.
:)

I was thinking about switching to fibre optics but there is a 75gb cap. You're starting to make me want to say with my current uncapped provider.

On another note, they are starting to roll out IPTV in my area which means extremely cheap cable tv that uses your internet connection.

The Secret World has a 1+GB patch. i put it on hold until midnight
(i'll "test" a little more BL 2 with PhysX, while i wait)
:)

- i think it is ridiculous to offer much faster speeds then put a stiff cap on it

I would much rather they throttle speeds during peak hours rather than imposing a cap. If the bandwidth is there, let people use it.

They must be really bandwidth constrained seeing as it's satellite. That said, doesn't a satellite just bounce signals back and forth?

It's a shame you don't have other options. I wonder if you could pick up an LTE signal with an amplified antenna.

WildBlue has been voted as the **WORST** ISP in the USA
-- the ONLY reason i keep it is because i can beat their system and effectively get 30-40GB on average every month - way more than the 17GB that i pay $80 for
:tease:

i will do a comparison .. but not with ViaSat vs. WB. i will get Hughes.Net instead.
:hello:

i am in a sheltered valley in the high desert - no 4G signals are in our area.

$79.95 a month for 17GB - that is the max you can buy from WildBlue. ViaSat has a plan where you pay for more bandwidth to avoid the slowdown.
