Huh?! Things are going to get hot if you try for 5ghz. No question about that. But Ivy handles moderate overclocking almost as well as Sandy does, and I expect it will improve over time as intel tweaks its production.

i already have 4.8GHz and changing the orientation of my fans has brought me +5C in cooling headroom

i'd say i can get 5GHz

OC'ing always depends on the individual sample

Look sickbeast, just because AMD fails to meet their targets doesn't mean intel does so as well, much as some people would love for that to be true! The only CPU failure in recent times is bulldozer.
