Ok, last one with my wacko beard (and the 4th baby, about 1 hour "old"): Hope it was nice for you guys to meet me and my family! And I look forward to "seeing" you guys, if it's not too much bother! Drank too much caffeine - that's what it was. I was wondering why I couldn't sleep tonight!!!!

My own hair used to have a slight reddish tint to it as did my dad's. But now it is dishwater gray Here is the latest photo of me at the GTC ... far right, 3nd row back - Nvidia took the picture .. "proof" i was paying attention; i think that is Scott of The Tech Report in front of me in the 2nd row (far right)

Hey, the female Barbarian had ORANGE hair! There's a difference! But the Irish temper would come in handy for barbarian vikings! I had to wrestle with my wife and win over her, to get her permission for me to "show her off" on the forums! Yep, Irish temper... (J/k!) Quote: Most soldiers throughout history were male, but there are enough exceptions to the rule to make it clear that women in the real world are capable of killing and pillaging along with the most bloodthirsty and vicious of men. The most famous example of woman warriors is, of course, the Amazons. Although the Amazons themselves are probably more myth than history (like elves and magic, perhaps?), there are enough paintings of female warriors adorning vases and temple walls to support the premise that the Amazon story was based on a kernel of fact. On the walls of Hittite fortresses dating to 1300 BC, for example, we see paintings of woman warriors carrying axes and swords. The Amazons were reputed to be great equestrians and archers (although the bit about cutting off one breast to facilitate use of the bow was undoubtedly tossed in just to make them sound fierce), and most accounts of historical woman warriors show them fighting primarily from horseback and being skilled with bows and spears, as well. http://www.rpglibrary.org/articles/society/female01.phpWell, the warrior lady barbarian in Scotland (forgot her name - I learned it in history) did cut off her right breast for maximum freedom with swinging the sword. She had to press a heated iron onto the flesh to stop the bleeding. Damn! -Edit: I think it was the Boudica movie?? Quote: In his opinion, this explains the Scythian customs according to which a young woman may not marry until she kills an enemy.
The Amazons were very cruel to tribes they conquered, particularly to captive men, whom they killed with great cruelty. According to Herodotus, Amazons cut their right breast off and then burned the wound with hot iron in order to prevent them from hunting and drawing a bow in battle. http://www.amazonation.com/Archaeology.htmlAnyways, it's not what the movie said about Boudica!
