A Software Engineer, a Hardware Engineer and a Branch Manager were on their way to a meeting. They were driving down a steep mountain road when suddenly the brakes on their car failed. The car careened almost out of control down the road, bouncing off the crash barriers, until it miraculously ground to a halt scraping along the mountainside. The car's occupants, shaken but unhurt, now had a problem: they were stuck halfway down a mountain in a car with no brakes. What were they to do? "I know," said the Branch Manager, "Let's have a meeting, propose a Vision, formulate a Mission Statement, define some Goals, and by a process of Continuous Improvement find a solution to the Critical Problems, and we can be on our way." "No, no," said the Hardware Engineer, "That will take far too long, and besides, that method has never worked before. I've got my Swiss Army knife with me, and in no time a t all I can strip down the car's braking system, isolate the fault, fix it, and we can be on our way." "Well," said the Software Engineer, "Before we do anything, I think we should push the car back up the road and see if it happens again."

sadly the engineer was mistaken and a Swiss Army knife is of no use in fixing brake failure fortunately an auto mechanic - with no formal schooling happened by - added brake fluid - which they had forgotten to ever check - bled the air out of the lines - and they were finally safely on their way

nope i AM a mechanic at least i can rebuild brake hydraulics, install and/or repair brakes - drum or disc, install new lines, and replace cables, plus i know about safety and making sure it all works *properly* Some of the engineers are pretty messed up and some cars are not designed properly; for example a 1999 Kia Spectra's brakes need replacing every 15K miles. The mechanics knew instantly that they were designed by a monkey of an engineer or else they said cut to costs to the bone and don't give a crap about safety or longevity i learned to even rebuild rotary engines. i like building computers better; Smaller tools and you don't get all greasy and sweaty

Sorry. Rotary engines are O.K. on the flat and level but they ( by design ) cannot produce much torque. So climbing a grade or trying to take off from a stop render this otherwise nice engine totally worthless!!

i never have Just 3 RX-5 Cosmos - the sedan predecessor to RX-7 - and with a much bigger engine they are easy to rebuild and 2 guys can lift the engine out of the vehicle; no lift required plus that 1.3L engine put out nearly 300 H.P. in my modified Cosmo
