1-27-10The iPad arrives, and it's basically a big iPhone

The long wait is over, the rumors are over, and at last, the Apple tablet is a reality. Armed with a 9.7-inch display, just a half-inch thick, and weighing just a pound and a half, the iPad is ... well, it's essentially just a big iPhone

3G models will be available as well, with prepaid, no-contract plans for AT&T (and only AT&T)

This good for people like me that don't like tiny screen.

I never got an iPhone even though I have AT&T service.

AT&T is the worst rated cell phone service out of all of them.
Why does a decent company hook up with sh!t when they know this?

Land lines were fine. AT&T and Sprint were great in the past........ Would I ever think of using them again for cell service? f**k no! (finger)
Verizon is King now (beer2)

Here's a video.....

Verizon just got rid of 13,000 employees today.

Notice they don't have the "It's the Network" commercials anymore.

They use a technology that is not conducive to a wireless ISP which is where everything is going.

And Sam's Club dropped what?........ 11,000!?! When I see a drop in my service, I'll let you know.

Are you familiar with Consumer Reports?? I'm sure you are going to put down anything said in that publication because it's "Independent", buys all it's own products and tests them NON bias and has no ads in their mags.... HOLY sh!t I left out a comma there f**k. How can one argue with that? You'll find a way I'm sure.

Let me get you started on the premise....
Have Verizon with 5 phones/Family.
Have Charter for cable/internet.

Verizon? What can I say, not ONE problem. I hop states and go places and never run into problems.
I f**king HATE CHARTER though! If it wasn't for me hating crappy cable boxes, I'd get a dish type. (currently have a 50" Panasonic Plasma w/cablecard)===== I HATE STB'S! (set top boxes) Are they all junk? Can you buy your own?

Why would I argue with what works?

Are you aware you can buy a DSL Modem? Do you know why? Because I took on the Phone Companies.
It was me personally that won that fight. Just look at DSLModemsDirect.com to see the story.

I never got into Cable Modems so did not put a dog in that fight.

I agree that you should be able to not only buy a STB of your choice but you should have a choice of cable service.

You don't know technology. Why would you pick a shared resource over an independent one?

But besides that they both have there place as far as infrastructure building.

In an heavy dense urban environment the cable model actually makes sense, in the rural areas DSL is better once you make the home run to a DSLAM.

Raw speed is not the only factor in determining what is "sh!t".

iPad is a freaking rip off.

$130 extra for the 3G version which only requires less than $10 in extra hardware components inside. Not to mention it still can't freaking multi-task. (Listen to music while writing a message or browsing the net, that sort of thing.) Still no flash support also.
