Ok, recently I asked for suggestions on a router. Bought the wrong one of course. My fault totally because I needed a modem (hh) :banghead:

There was no "CABLE" connection on the back of it, it was only a router. Needs to have the type of cable for cable tv.
I either need to know what to do for a decent Wireless cable modem and some suggestions from you guys. Told you I was clueless on this.

Current setup:
Hard wired to 2 computers and the NetGear modem is wireless
Needs to be wireless for my wireless Blu-ray player and wife's Ipod Touch

Currently have a coax type cable hooked to the back of the modem and going through Charter. Everything works perfectly now, but I'm trying to save $15.+/mth by buying my own modem.

When I searched, there were very few options for cable modems. Must not be doing this right ~!~

Teach me.

Linksys, Zoom and Motorola cables Modems would work fine.

Both cable modems and DSL Modems adhere to standards.

The only wirless cable modem I see at Best Buy is the Motorola $129.99 and it's backordered. 1 modem? This can't be right.
I couldn't even find 1 listing at NewEgg.

Here's the exact modem I'm using now. I need the same type of connections this one has, but better quality/range and at a decent price.....

Not a lot of choices out there for Cable Modem with built in 802.11

Nothing wrong with just using a plain cable modem to a wireless router.

That's what most of the U.S. does.

If that's what I have to do...........
Give me suggestions on a decent set. Cable Modem and Router. Cheap/Good/No problems

Still don't understand why they can't have an all in one unit.

With all of the RED on the front page, I hope I don't interrupt all the old news with a bump to my question.

You mean "an" honorary title.

What is a good router to use with a cable modem that has high signal penetration? My modem is in my basement with my desktop. I am looking for a good router that would be able to penetrate to the upstairs so that I can use my notebook? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
