It seems the tide is turning and the membership at AT has had enough of Keyplayr and NV's marketing department ruining the Video forum. People are openly calling out Anand and the mods for allegedly taking kickbacks from NV for allowing this to happen.

i have to say that Keysplayr is trustworthy. He is fit to be a mod.
- unfortunately the fact is that there is a *perception issue* that is constantly brought up; and often it is due to jealousy. i believe it is largely because of the privileged position he is in as a moderator for a top tech site's forum and as a NVIDIA Focus Group member.

My own personal issue is the way that Focus Group has been handled in the past by NVIDIA; that it does not enjoy a good reputation. They were mostly known for being very one-sided (which is "entry" into the Group; you got to like NVIDIA) and not terribly critical of their sponsors. They are perceived as doing "marketing" for NVIDIA - and imo it IS a matter of negative perception. NVIDIA is getting a backlash because of some of the sins of this program in its past and being associated with the decidedly non-transparent AEG.

However, imo it is unfair to ask Keysplayr to quit Focus Group. He *loves* NVIDIA and always has and he would not be one whit different if he were not in that group. As far as i can see, he is true to himself and has not compromised his personal integrity. As to modding video that is between him and the forum administration over there. And i can guarantee that they do not like controversy and constant disputes in video. Overall, it loses membership.

Keysplayr is a good guy and I agree he should be a Mod, even after all the bs at AT.
I never knew Rollo was let back in in the past. What was with that? When was he last banned from there again?
I get ousted for a simple call out of a mod x2 and I'm still banned 1.5 years later!......... Oh, that was in the Politics forum..... Ahhhhh, that's why. Something to do with Perknose sucking Obama's cock

I just don't know how Evadman and Perknose can say that Keys is not a viral marketer. I can see why people are suggesting that AT is taking bribes from NV.

Well, it would be up to Keys, and i suggested way back when - when they offered him Focus Group which was amazingly bad timing with his becoming mod and with Rollo being ejected from the Forum - that he simply refrain from modding video - that he mod every place other than video so that there wasn't a *hint* of any perception issues. And for a long time he refrained from modding there; he asked the AT forum admin to leave him as a CPU mod but remove the video mod title. i think becoming "Super" moderator erased all distinctions and he now mods video.

Yes, Rollo was banned twice. The first time, i was instrumental in outing him as a viral AEG agent. After a long time, NVIDIA asked Anand if it would be OK if he returned. AnandTech was offering "amnesty" back then in certain cases and i even lobbied to have him return (which he still will never believe). He got perma-banned again for returning to his old routines. By then, the membership was pretty hostile to him anyway.

If i remember correctly, you *dared* them to perma-ban you in PFI forum.

There is nothing wrong with "viral marketing"
YouTube IS viral marketing, for example. Also, NVIDIA and its partners pay for advertising on AT. However, like all things there is a dark side when it is used to *manipulate* public opinion.
