If i may be allowed an observation ...

Actually, you're both likeable. i see a personality conflict. And a real belief in each of your own "rightness".

Well, heck you're both right .. so .. you can compromise or avoid each other.

Frankly, i would like to see *you* do a 3D article. i am definitely going to explore 3D Vision also .. along with Eyefinity and Surround (eventually; after i get SLI)

Well, Keys and i were the first two video mods at ATF and we worked together on reviews for that forum. Those were good times. That is why i hate to see him in any perception of a conflict of interest that paints a target on him.

We have already put up a ABT News before and linked to Key's GTX 480 review on our site so it would still be OK for us to accept quality reviews and articles from guest contributors. He has done a lot of valuable work on PhysX that should be updated and perhaps polished into a feature review (imo).

As an update, we have been in communication with Nvidia at the very highest levels. They agree with us that we should not have had to put up with any abuse by anyone. i am getting an extraordinarily positive view of Nvidia PR that i may not have had before.

As a further update, we are looking closely at our forum to insure that Freedom of Speech remains without allowing for the abuses that are evident in this thread. We a not a *garbage dump* for complaints about members of another forum. ABT is primarily a TECH forum even though we can tell you about the metaphysics of it. You are going to see changes that we think you will like. If you have suggestions, please make them.

3D article.. hmm.. that's gonna be hard for a newbie writer! Gotta take pictures (maybe just anaglyph pictures so that everybody could easily view them with red/cyan paper glasses). Plus the only NV card I have right now is an aging 8800GTX oc'ed to Ultra speeds. I was able to play Batman:AA with PhysX on high @ 1680x1050 w/ 4xAA (minimum fps dipping into 23fps in a few outdoor scenes), but it was not even playable at 1440x900 with Stereo3D unless I turned PhysX off (and AA was off too). 1280x800 was fine with both S3D and PhysX with 0xAA, but that would make a poor showcase for a review article. Yet, it's still leaps and bounds better than console 720p in 2D and 0-4x AF when I used 16xAF. Most of the game is actually playable in 2D @ 1920x1200 w/4x TSAA and high PhysX, but it's not worth changing the settings for a few areas in the game--especially the boss battles.

By the way, I played throughout Dead Space max settings with 16x HQ AF @ 2560x1600 68Hz on my 24" CRT monitor, since the game does not support AA or S3D. And it hardly ever dipped below 50fps! Whoo! :yahoo: My 8800GTX was STILL able to play most of the new games out there @ 1920x1200 w/4xAA, and there's been plenty!

Maybe we could work on it together. You seem to have the back story really down and you have explored several types of 3D. If i get a 3D vision setup, i could run the benches on GTX 480/ GTX 280.

:hello:

And in a bit of "breaking news", apparently Keysplayr resigned his position as video mod at the other forum - he will not moderate their video any longer although he is still moderator of the other forums there. Impressive. He certainly did not have to but he is apparently doing his best to avoid *perception* issues. Well done!
:good:

i admit it .. i looked

I'm already quite honored about the idea of being able to work with you. Can't wait until the 475 (full GF104) comes out.. if I do get it, I'd definitely be doing tons of reviews on it.

@ Keysplayr, best wishes and hope you well with the decisions you've made. Hope you could do some hardcore stuff here like BFG10K.. maybe we could create one huge lab at ABT for some epic benching reviews (with donated stuff from NV and ATI, unless a millionaire buys all the stuff)! But then I'd have to move over there and show you all the 3D tricks. Ready to hire me? (joint) (L)

I think it's a good move for Keys to do that. It's too bad he got hate mail. I guess that can be what happens when you piss off a bunch of teenagers.

TBH I actually like Rollo and would like to petition for his return here.

Why?

He almost never contributes anything and he ridicules anyone who disagrees with him. He manipulates tech forums and people. He is a huge part of the troubles that the other forum still suffers with. He carries his Nvidia Focus Group affiliation like a club.

If you really miss him, he is a moderator at Nzone, i believe. Just don't tell him i said hi; i don't want to encourage him or give him any hope of return here. ABT's tech site is going to become a troll-free zone.

I don't disagree with you at all. The thing is I find Rollo hilarious. I can't help but laugh when he says good things about terrible graphics cards like the FX5800 and such. I also get a good laugh when he trolls most of the time.

For the most part, he's quite comical and quite a character. His stupidity is over the top so it doesn't bother me.

See, that is the superficial analysis.
:D

His fake genuineness appeals to a lot of people; he is clowning. But not if you are a moderator - or care about a forum where people can come to really learn something - then it is a disease.

ABT is becoming a no troll zone.

Can you let him come back to post only in the non-technical forums here?

I know it's complicated, but I'm sure dmcowen is up for it.

I suppose you could tell him to stay out of the tech forums or else you will pwn him all the way back to Satan Clara.

That is the mistake Anand made; allowing him back. It has taken them 2 years to fix it and they are only doing it now.
- i like to learn from other's mistakes. So in answer to your request ..
