They had better not let Rollo anywhere near this project. He'd only port the current top ten titles, and then only with a lot of grumbling -- after all nobody wants to play older games!
Of course if they wanted to cheap out on back porting, he's their perfect man!

Nvidia has gotten over the largest hiccup in the history of it's existence - the 6 month delay of Fermi - and has been executing top notch since. Nvidia is looking more and more like being THE defacto standard in tablet/cell phone processors, and if they do in fact become the clear cut industry leader then Nvidia's revenue and profits are going to skyrocket.

I'm with Sickbeast, I'll believe it when I see it. I mean it sounds awesome, but, IMHO, it depends on how the market/consumers react.

It's not just for "smartphones" .. it's for a desktop PC's functionality - including outputting games or video to a 2560x1600 screen - crammed into a tablet with battery life for 12 hours.
You don't get that this is the *beginning* of the PC technology revolution . . . (and where we come in at ABT) Humans will change the way they interact - if we survive to make the transformation.

Are die-hard gamers going to want to play on tablets? That's a bigger question. I know I don't want to, but that's just me (of course).

Of course not! The tablet is just for when you are mobile. No doubt there will be a dock (hopefully wireless) where you interface with your home gadgets and multi-screen 3D gaming.
Of course, there is a whole new crop of augmented reality games coming for enhancing the next generation of mobile games.

I'm just not seeing gamers with 2560x1600 screens gaming on tablets. Anyone that must have the absolute best graphics will use the type of hardware they can easily upgrade. Not mobile devices. Software and hardware is still changing way too rapidly for serious gamers to lock themselves into a device like that.

If anything, Nvidia is going after the iPad, and they're going to have to outperform the iPad 2 which is widely rumored to be in production.
What is this "16 core" GPU they're talking about? Is that 16 CUDA cores? If so, then that's a really weak GPU.

Not just the Ipad, there appears to be a hoard of "tablet" devices coming out.
