Grass huts and no Internet? I thought that was Hawaii for real! I kid :)

Back on topic though, Antec has been very aggressive with their pricing as of late. At some point, you could get the Antec TruePower 650W for $40 after MIR IIRC. They're trying to stay in the game it seems!

NewEgg has it back on sale for $55 with free shipping
- not quite as good as NCIX :P

However, if you are looking for a 2TB WD HDD

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822136514

$75 with shipping and promo code EMCKEHK22
:good:

The Antec 300 and Antec 300 Illusion can often be had on Newegg for $50 or less with free shipping, in the U.S. The 300 Illusion comes with extra fans that also have blue LEDs, and is often cheaper than the basic 300!

Cost of $/GB is amazing nowadays. I've been holding out from buying a HDD for so long. I don't think I can resist for much longer! 2TB would be more than perfect for backup purposes as well.

Antec 300 Illusion? I don't think NCIX carries that particular model. Lucky Americans! :P

Just bought mine. No more 18" CRT!!!

ViewSonic is the only one with a zero tolerance policy for dead pixels on all new monitors. No worries!

Why don't monitors this size come with a height adjustment? That's a 100% requirement for me. Especially when I upgrade to a 24".
I'm 6'0 and have my chair all the way lowered and the height of my 22" monitor all the way up, and it's still too low.

Unless you're like 5' tall or shorter, monitors need a height adjustment or a thick dictionary or two

I hear you. This is an issue for me at work, but at home my desk is the right height. (And I did the measurements before ordering this.) Regardless, it has the VESA mount if you want to get fancy.

Maybe universal adjustable monitor stands will get popular.

That is a really nice upgrade from an 18" CRT.

No kidding!

It arrived yesterday. Not sure if I have it configured optimally yet, but it looks stunning! I tried out Starcraft II and Oblivion, and both just... looked better. It definitely wasn't just the size, either. I sat there in Oblivion for a while rotating around my character in custom modded armor. So puuuuurty!

Interestingly, I was getting tearing in Oblivion where it wasn't a problem before, so I had to enable VSync and Triple Buffering. Time for that GTX 560 Ti!

By the way, I thought NVIDIA's driver control used to have a little color/contrast configuration walkthrough. Couldn't find it with current drivers. Any recommendations?

Look under "display" > "adjust desktop color settings" in the Nvidia CP. There are also video adjustments and Pure Video controls.

It might be that you notice the tearing a bit more on an LCD. You found the cure
:)
