I'll hold out from these instant giveaways now that I've already won one. +1 chance for you! Hah, no worries here. I'm just having fun with it, checking in now and then. That's the point, isn't it? Of course, if you take my GTX 560 Ti, then I'll be mad.

I was just thinking of how nice it would be to have a galaxy 560 in my rig..........It would be a decent upgrade from my 460............I sure fire would be a happy camper then.........a tee shirt would look great with it too, but that might be pushing it........you think?

JerTech wrote: The most important thing I look at is the cooler. Even if I can find a deal with amazing price/performance, I won't touch it if the cooler is crap. Most importantly, it HAS to be quiet under load. (Of course, it also has to keep the card from getting too hot.) All of the components in my system are pretty quiet, so a single noisy video card would break that balance.
I have a Palit 460 i got in a trade and the cooler seems extremely worse than my MSI's gts450. Its flimsy and smaller, heck the pcd is over a whole inch smaller than the the MSI's 450. Even so, I found it does fine for the 460. Much much better than i would ever have expected. The temps arent as cool as some other vendors but they are very acceptable. I think Palit balanced it fine, the temps do stay very good. OCing may prove a much greater disadvantage. I can get 850mhz and the temps arent jolly, them alone hold me from OCing it far for 100% use. But for the average user I think the card would be fine. I also think it will last yrs with the crappier cooler. Its not something i would recomend for a hardcore kinda person, but i do think more of palits choices now that i have actually spent some time with it. I think you have to have the right tool for the right job. I got a good deal on a trade and its something i never wouldve bought because of the cooler limitation, but now i dont seem to mind it as much as i thought. I get it, it does seem perfected for the majority who arent pushing limits even if its not really something for me. JerTech wrote: Edit: And yes, I like referring people to ABT. My favorites are your CPU bottleneck investigations. You've helped convince some friends to not waste their money.
I love the abt, its got that old school feel to it, and i am talkn the best aspects of the early days. Most of the tech forums today are so structured. They do the same thing over and over. I know its impossible to have out of the box stuff all the time but many sites today are so dry. The abt is fresh and growing but what is great is their open for suggestions and really willing to grow into whatever directions the members want to take it. So far i really really enjoy the full time members that have been attracted here. Its nice to see some of the poisons from the other sites have little effect here. Compared to the vast wasteland of other tech sites out there, the abt is like my little oasis. Thats kinda really how i feel about it.

-I have never owned a Galaxy product before. I'm hoping that I might own my first one soon -Name the most important things that you consider when you buy a graphics card I'm honestly not all that knowledgeable about such things... However I beleive some important things to look out for may be things such as proper cooling / ventilation, and having enough power for the card. - How did you decide on your current video card? A buddy of mine picked it out for me when he helped me build my current computer

Anybody home? edit-- If I'm allowed to win this it would be great. I thought only the Power DVD was going to be available, which I would not need. This on the other hand would come in handy. My wife does a lot of video editing for our family and friends. You would not believe how fast my wife has taken to computers. Surpassing me in many areas like this
