I'm just not seeing gamers with 2560x1600 screens gaming on tablets. Anyone that must have the absolute best graphics will use the type of hardware they can easily upgrade. Not mobile devices. Software and hardware is still changing way too rapidly for serious gamers to lock themselves into a device like that.

it will be an alternative until it supplants the desktop.

Just like i use my notebook for 90% of my computing needs; soon as i add more RAM and install my SSD, it will be *everything* BUT gaming.

Now if it was capable to game also and it interfaced with and added to my desktop, i'd say it could be useful

It sounds like by 2015, our mobile phones are going to become full capacity AAA gaming devices. Plug it into a monitor or TV, and an input slot for mouse/keyboard/controller, and we will have ourselves the most versatile, expandable, and portable all-in-one PC/Console gaming machine ever.

EDIT: It'd be amazingly nice if DX games we own now will run on our cell phone games in the future. Being able to play my entire Steam catalog where ever I go gives me a SCHWING!

Sure, but that's a HUGE leap. Heck, for most people that don't game, a ten year old PC will suit their computing needs. Nothing in software advances as fast as games do. In order for a gamer to successfully lock into gaming hardware, the current trend in gaming software advancements would need to come to a complete stop, relatively speaking.

There has been NO *reason* to upgrade. The killer app will be graphics-related. Whether it is our 3D forum world that gets people to upgrade or something else, major change is coming to PC that will eventually toss the x86 archaic crap presided over by the Wintel gods in the dumpster where it belongs.

Another idiot spammer with a rip-off site to visit. If they employ jerks who don't pay for advertising, i think you can imagine how awful their service is.

Put this on your do not visit list

That has to be the cutest spamming attempt I've ever seen, but I'd still ban you for it, if I still had the power to do so.
