These are (new) connections at EA that i didn't know that i had
- yes, things are looking up.

Unfortunately, i would have to make a choice to be a HW reviewer (primarily) *or* a game reviewer
- it is impossible to balance both .. i had to turn down a very important HW review to do 3 game reviews
(DNF/Alice/Dungeon Siege III) ... only one is a full game review; the other two will be "performance" reviews
(although i will cover Alice as far as i played it).

i really enjoy doing both but i will have to be very careful to pick and choose what i review.
- i'd say that you can expect a performance review of DX 11 Crysis 2 and full game reviews of Deus Ex HR and Max Payne 3. The rest of the time, i'll be back to reviewing HW

My honest advice, there are some game styles you clearly don't like or enjoy playing and I think that would make it difficult for you to be a full time game reviewer. It is much easier to write a game review about a game you like.

Despite the drama we engage in on forums, it's much easier to review hardware.

My issue has always only been time. i would just need to get back to playing again - for hours - every day; something i have not been able to do since i started writing for ABT
--- you have also got to realize that i have done over 100 hardware reviews - and two game reviews during the same period. i am most likely going to continue to review HW although i will review a few games (that i am looking forward to).

And i have to say that it is obvious that it is easier for me to write about what i like
- it is the same with HW .. clearly my love is the high end and multi-GPU, multi-display

It would be the same with gaming. i am going to review Alice and i don't particularly like it. i do like the hybrid reviews that cover the game and the performance; and i certainly can get used to reviewing games in S3D. These reviews would take much less time as they do not require that i finish each game that i performance evaluate.

Well, I'd say that sort of review style is complementary to your hardware reviewing -- you are reviewing the games on a performance basis, not on a game/gameplay basis, which I think you would have to do for all titles regardless of your taste for them or not if you were to become a game reviewer only.

i doubt that i would ever drop HW reviews in favor of being full time as a game reviewer. i just want to review some games and add hybrid game-performance reviews

If only the game was available on Steam to purchase.... oh well... I guess I'll wait until it's $10 from D2D or Amazon.
