No I can't purchase from NewEgg apparently they only take American issued credit cards, the courier service that I had its either they found out they were a courier service or they developed a bad relationship with them because they didn't ship to the warehouse address. There is someone I know who can purchase off NewEgg for me but I will still have to pay to clear the items which basically defeats the cause of a sale because its within our customs officers so called "right" to clear the item for what you purchased it for or clear it for its actual market value, so in away its a win, lose situation.

As in regards to the CPU/GPU that is strictly for learning/experimental purposes I have no intentions of relying on the GPU that is inergrated into the Sandy Bridge.

Don't miss the point .. even paying market value, RAM is not expensive and definitely something not to skimp on compared to what you are paying for the REST of your upgrade.

You want a minimum of 6GB for Tri-channel or 8GB for dual (unless you only game or keep an archaic 32-bit OS)

I'm kinda confused now. When did I ever state anything about skimming on memory? Also the fact that I'm spending so much money on the rest of the system is why it could directly implement how much I have left to spend on memory. The Intel build by itself (not including memory) has already passed one it would have cost me for the complete AMD build (memory included).

Don't skimp on memory - no relation to skim :P

Where? Here:

Actually I'm kinda weary of 64bit OS (have yet to across a stable one) but I was thinking might as well go all out in terms of performance. What you recommend I stick to 32bit?

I just preferred my 3.2-3.5 gigs of stability versus 4-32 gig of un needed drama.

Spend the extra $50. And if you really want to save, then overclock your current system for a little performance increase and suffer until Bulldozer. You will see cheaper systems than now - either way.

Aaahh those posts were in concern towards the the stability of OS than anything else.

Also what exactly is the difference between skimp and skim?

I'm not purchasing any of these items of NewEgg I'm just using NewEgg as a reference I'm purchasing these items of Amazon so all the prices guys are going to cost me a minimum USD10 more not including shipping and handling. Mobo is going to run me 172 and the processor 220 so I have already clearly blew pass what I had initially planned.

Skimp is to cheap-out on. Like buying an expensive sports car and then going for stock wheels and hubcaps to save a few bucks; they are not the place to "save" :P

*everyone* blows past their budget ... you have to be practical. Either wait, or set your sights a bit lower. Or buy used, if you cannot get in on sales. The people in the USA are rather spoiled when it comes to cheap prices and a lot of competition - and no state taxes!

Hhhmm so since I have started to pass my budget I'm considering getting the i5-2300 instead of the i5-2500k and that is going to end up running me $420 not including S&H. Any thoughts?

Bad idea unless it is just a "placeholder"

i think i'd recommend a Phenom II platform over a Core i3

EDIT:

OH... Core i-FIVE ... that is OK; however, unless i am mistaken, they don't overclock and they lack some features of the higher-performing CPUs

Eye sight going with old age Pop :D and thats okay since I don't overclock. So otherwise from the lack of possible over clocking you have no qualms with it?
